Ice Crystals Are Prisms || Rapunzel and Kristoff
If there was one thing Rapunzel knew, it was that ice crystals were prisms, and prisms case rainbows. She loved rainbows. They did thing to her. They filled her with light and hope and warmth.
If there was another thing she knew, it was that Queen Elsa had left an ice palace up on the North Mountain. She'd heard Prince Hans and the other men talk about it when they got back with the unconscious monarch. She'd asked Eugene if they could go see, but he'd insisted in his gentle, loving way, that there was no fucking way because it was way the hell too dangerous in this unseasonable storm.
well, the storm was over. Summer had returned to Arendelle, and as Eugene packed to return to Corona, Rapunzel leaned on the windowsill, gazinging longingly towards the mountains, much as she used to gaze towards the source of the floating lights.
"Hey," Eugene said gently, coming up behind her. He rested his hands on her hips, then slid his arms around her. "You really want to see it, don't you?"
"I really do," she agreed sheepishly. "Can you imagine it? An entire palace, made of ice!"
He kissed her ear, then rested his chin on her head. "Then maybe you should go see it before we leave," he suggested.
"Really?" she asked, looking up at him. "Will you come?"
"Traips around the wilderness to a freezing cold location when I just got over hypothermia? Tempting, beautiful, but I think I'll sit this one out. Just don't be too long, okay?"
"Okay!" she grinned. She turned in his arms and threw hers around his neck, standing on tiptoe to kiss him deeply. "I love you. I'll be back before you know it."
"See that you are," he smiled. "Cause I'll be pining and wasting away without you."
They shared a deep kiss, and then Rapunzel hurried away, to find someone who could help her make her way up the North Mountain.
