I wish there were more openly recast friendly people on Tumblr. I'd love to talk about bjds with someone who doesn't immediately hate my doll and I just because it's a recast.. I feel so lonely in this hobby sometimes.

If anyone ever smashed my recast JUST for me owning one, I'd turn around and smash their precious legit cause i spent MY money on it. Like my doll is irrelevant to your life, so why are you trying to make the bjd community look bad?
I love recast, but wish some older sculpts from companies who have disappeared before the "recast era" where also more available. I never get any luck on 2nd hand market since it seems most the sculpts I'm after are only on the hands of russian collectors and they either don't sell them or it's nearly impossible to get on their communities. I never had the chance to get them from their site, I would have, but I wasn't able to save fast enough. The "save and you will get there" only goes so far.
I’m a noob starting this hobby and it is scaring me a little bit because of all this hate and arguments, it would be nice if everyone just get along.
this is coming from an outsider who's curious about bjd... but the anti-recast community FREAKS ME OUT. theres so much nastiness, NO sense of nuance, and some of their arguments are downright bad. dont get me wrong, i've seen problems in the pro-recast community too, but the anti-recasters really bother me. i dont know much about the creation of these dolls so i dont even know what my opinion is, but even if i was against recasting i dont think i'd ever be a part of the "anti-recast community".

If someone buys a recast, if isn’t any of your fucking business if they did or not. It isn’t your damn doll, and you have no right to belittle another human fucking being for doing something you don’t like. Stop being a cunt and play with your legit
So, if I understand this: If I paint, mod or make clothing for a recast or recast owner I am just as bad. I am supporting recast’s in all ways and can not be called a neutral. Simple guilty by association. With that in mind, how about buying items from company’s with a shady past. Dollzone recast, soom/ fairyland art theft, leeke art body (and the list goes on) Does buying from them make me a bad person too?
About sold-out limited doll. Now emotions aside, think smart (and I repeat, SMART) which one you’d invest your money truly: a brand new recast doll that costs 200$ or a second hand market doll that is old (remember resin ages) and sold almost with the same price as new 500-900$? Not to mention; neither option provides money for the original creators. So where's the problem? Then again, trying to talk sense to anti-recast folks is like talking Latin to them. They just can't comprehend.
