When I see posts of people saying to go legit because the people on that side are nice and will accept you, I roll my eyes. Why would I want to join a community who see my recasts as less? They don’t even allow recast owners to post their dolls. I’ll still stay in recast friendly spaces even when I go legit someday.

The only reason I don't own any recasts, and spend too much money on just having a few legits, is the fear of bullying :( I really wish I could get over it and have my dream dolls.
I know it's not my place to say, and it's should be someone trained in mental health care, but, you plan to live YOUR life like this until you die? Asking permission for other to approve what you want or like? ... Just do what you want with your 💲, and if ANYONE complaints about it, you can either tell them to F-off, or, that you'll go legit only if they add from their pockets whatever amount the legit costs (since you can't pay that much, and either way no artist it's loosing anything).
I bought three dolls, a legit 1/6 and two recast 1/3. Guess which cost more?

Honestly people sometimes assume that all recast owners have no aesthetic taste whatsoever because people always say recasts are ugly when really I have seen so many people butcher legit dolls with ugly faceups, bad dyejobs or horrible wigs. And recasts are exact copies of legits so howcan they be ugly? I do my own faceups and I have been able to practice a lot. I am no master but it looks good. I buy my dolls good clothes and wigs and get so many compliments for my 'legits' it is laughable.
Nothing annoys me more than being in my recast friendly fb groups and anties opening their threads in it about recast vs legit and artist view and so on. Gtfo to your other legit only groups.

The bjd community is the only one I’ve seen so far to be so crazy about recasts/bootlegs, other fandoms are like “oh this is not nice” “quality isn’t as good” or whatever. But none of them literally bullies other people just for owning them my god
(I welcome you to the real lolita community.) But, pretty much every community as big as this has always a hardcore side of people who are elitists about it. The thing is that in the BJD community almost most of the "com" part revolves around "showing up your dolls".
There's no way in a community such as this, to get to the point were you can get social among ALL groups (proartists elitists antis included), and not get any backlash for owning recast. So the other option is, if you want to socialize with people, do it with other people who is recast friendly, or at very least neutral. There's sadly always a social stigma stick to what a person can or will afford, and, it's place on such prestablish society.
I feel like when the elitist says they "saved up" to buy their multiple legit dolls, its probably from daddy's monthly allowance that's about, like, $200-$500 a month. Cuz there's no way a working class person would be okay with blowing hundreds of $ for a questionable quality doll. I think for normal working class folks, even if they don't support recast, would at the very least be neutral about it. Unlike those elitists living off daddy's fortune.
