I'm stuck. I've taken many tests and they keep shifting my type from INFP to INTP and back. My Fi and Ti are almost always identical or very close (0-5% difference) I've read descriptions and both fit me in some ways and don't in others. What to do?
Admin 1: Itās very possible that your personality is still developing or, as I like to call it, āmaturingā. MBTI is an instrument used to assist those who already āknow themselvesā fairly well, and are seeking a better understanding of how and why they perceive, comprehend, and expatiate information the way they do. Whether it be physical age, lack of self-assurance, or some form of cerebral instability, there are many factors and āmental blocksā that can get in the way of you understanding yourself. Ā
The differences between INTP-type (Ti, Ne, S, Fe) personalities and INFP-type (Fi, Ne, S, Te) personalities are quite significant, as their dominant and 4th (weakest) functions are flipped. I recommend doing a little research on Carl Jungās theory of PersonalityĀ to understand this, as it is the core concept and inspiration of Briggs Myersā test.
(Side-note) If youāre still unsure,Ā donāt sweatāā
Sometimes we need to allow ourselves time to heal, grow, and comprehend complicated subject matters before jumping to conclusions. When the answer reveals itself, you will know with full confidence that it is true.
