Bite the Ballot-Political Animal Poster
This project was a live client brief (Bite the Ballot) to raise awareness of the Political Animal movement. The aim was to promote the Political Animal campaign and motivates 16 to 24 year olds to join this emergent movement. Also to engaged citizens who are socially conscious and aware of their power as changemakers.
Live Design Brief | Bite the Ballot
This project was for Bite the Ballot. They are a ‘national, youth-led movement’. In this specific brief they are setting up a campaign to get 16-24 year olds to vote. The campaign is called ‘Political Animal’ and my challenge was to promote the campaign through an A2 poster which could be later featured on a series of t-shirts.
I used Adobe Illustrator to designed a geometric styled lion. I then changed it’s typical colours to a palette of blues and purples to reflect the campaigns ‘lively’ and ‘playful’ personality. I added the website and logo centred bottom as it is positioned clearly. The viewer is enticed by the lion illustration and then is taken directly to the campaigns website so that they can find out more information. My design has a distinctive style and would be easily recognised in different contexts.
Keep an eye out for the new VAA (voter advice app - remember that from Rick Edward's Ted talk?) coming soon from Demos and Bite the Ballot. The app will ask you a series of questions to match you with the party whose manifesto best lines up with your views.
