Fionna and Cake rambles that are too small or specific to be their own post
>gonna be real, de-magicization was the most interesting thing to happen to Aaa, i've been rewatching a bunch of AT episodes and the most interesting thing Aaa had going for it was different perspectives and interpretations from different characters as a fictional work, otherwise? they were literally just Finn and Jake, it's just Adventure Time but again, the fact that it's genderbent is the novelty of it but it is just novelty
>Cake passes the Harkness Test and therefore her relationship with human boy M. Cron is ethical, yadda yadda, many people have said this and they are correct yes, but what i'm wondering is what's exactly more ethical about the humanoid Jake/Cake dating an actual anatomical horse? it's true, these horses is a peoples, Lady/Lord Monochromicorn also passes the Harkness Test, but it's literally the same deal but reversed no? is it just because they're both cartoon animals vs one cartoon animal and one human? that's silly, this whole conversation's silly
>Steve Wolfhard Winterworld headcanon Finn is probably the worst-off Finn in the multiverse, imagine being raised by the Slime Kingdom, no Ice King, no PB, implied no Marceline, imagine that derring-do adventure boy growing up in slime world, Slime Princess does NOT have PB's cool older sister vibes, she is 100% feeding into his worst impulses, he is eternally moist, we can reasonably assume that his defeating of a post-Winter Kingdom Lich in his late 20s is probably his first rise to prominence in Ooo vs prime Finn's adolescent adventures, we see no evidence of Jake in the image either so that's ANOTHER important adult figure in his life that Slime Finn does not have, i see no one writing any fanfiction for him, i see no fanart, no one mourns for Slime Finn
>many things peeve me about people claiming Fionna destroying the Sweet Spot out of angst is character assassination, the primary thing being in the previous episode Fionna flat out says verbatim "i'm just violent and impulsive", this is what violent impulse looks like, to paraphrase someone else on Tumblr; "Finn has the same violent impulses, the same angsty moments, unlike Finn though Fionna has access to alcohol and a forklift", also btw i feel like her immediate instant regret isn't talked about enough here but you know
>building off of that point, Finn is a very screwed up kid, he grew up around violence and throwing himself into harm's way and every important adult figure in his life supported it either passively or overtly, but the thing about this is that's just how Ooo is, Finn is the best at what he does and what he does is needed in the societal aeon that he lives in, Ooo is a horrible kid's show world, it is a 12 year old boy's dream, it is no wonder he's stunted but like Jake PB Marceline they all tried their goddamn best and he's probably the best he ever could've been, his angst right now is in response to Jake's death, not any lingering trauma. compare this to Fionna, she had the same life until about a decade ago, she has those same impulses, she is a Finn, but she's in the real world, those impulses are not useful, they are in-fact quite detrimental, Finn couldn't hold a cubicle job to save his life and neither can Fionna, and the show SINCE SEASON 1 has been building on this and exploring it
