see i have a friend that i would look at very much like i’m sure they look at gansey which is like 100% hero worship like we could easily make a jesus/apostles metaphor here and those kind of things like which is so fascinating and like gansey is deeply flawed but we also see his flaws more clearly bc he spends a good amount of time at odds with people that the other characters dont? i just really love gansey and like hundred percent get why they’re all friends with him

yeah i just don’t think i’ll ever really be able to wrap my head around it because i am very much not a ‘hero worship’ kind of person.

[and like oh this is a whole other tangent but i’m just putting it here bc i’ve been thinking about it all day bc it just makes me so angry how they all hold him up like that and then in bllb adam and ronan are like ‘we need to do this so gansey doesn’t have to get his hands dirty’ and i’m just sitting there oh my god love yourself do something for yourself for once, make gansey do his own shit for once. he should have to get his fucking hands dirty this entire thing is what HE wants goddamn he’s not a fucking saint]

as for why ronan is friends with gansey like pre-nial dying it was definitely like typical friendship like good times and have similar senses of humor and stuff but then niall died and the quest and everything else like shit got so real and you don't go through something like that without connecting to the person that's there for you through that and FINALLY ronan would legitimately die for gansey follow him to the ends of the earth like literally he would do anything for him and that comes outof like huge levels of respect and adoration for him and thats where their friendship is now i think and obviously gansey loves ronan because i tihnk that's made pretty clear through his pov chapters and like theres a really good chance that i'm projecting a lot onto this buttttt yeah at one point ronan was in love with/had a crush on gansey but it grew and evolved into this pure devotion and love that encompasses all of their friendships with each other

i am 100% here for ronan and gansey being each other’s first kisses and shit bc that is adorable. and yeah i think my whole inability to wrap my head around the whole ronan-gansey friendship is that apparently ronan was a VERY different person before niall died and like we’ve never seen that person and THAT is the person that first became friends with gansey so it’s all like, a bit hard to visualize for me. 

and yeah obviously gansey really does care about ronan ... i mean he does obviously care about them all but i still can’t help but feel that the way he treats them sometimes that adam kind of had a point there with the ‘all of your things under one roof’ thing. like he cares about them but also he will get upset when they don’t act how he wants them to and stuff. and like he can obviously still care about them AND be a dick but like there are so many things that gansey does [to all of them really] where i’m like ok if my friend did that i would tell them off for it but they hardly ever do. 

[tldr: it’s probably hard for me to wrap my head around why people are friends with gansey because he’s the only one i could never see myself being friends with]

It is indeed probably me you see on your dash all the time talking about ZR. I actively follow the tag and aggressively reblog most of what I see in it. ANYWAYS onto the rest of your question.

I personally don’t feel like it’s too scary? I’m not a fan/get fairly easily scared by of horror and it’s been pretty okay. Granted, I only enable the zombie chases (which is what will get you hearing the zombie sounds more-- they’re not AS frequent in the game as you’d expect?) on occasion, and if you’re the type to get anxious/scared fairly easily I wouldn’t recommend running in the dark, especially with chases on. But walking arond in the daytime/at a gym, with or without chases, is usually not too bad?

That being said, I’d say it starts to get dark and live up to its postapocalyptic fiction nature starting about the middle of Season Two or so. My one criticism of ZR is that there’s no real way to be warned about whether or not a mission is going to be particularly gruesome/possibly triggering, and those darker missions crop up with a bit more frequency especially as we dig into Season Three. It hasn’t been quite bad enough to send me into a super tailspin at any point, but there have been a few upsetting missions.

HOWEVER, before you really get to that point, you’re going to have to make the decision to buy the Season Pass, which will give you access past the free missions you get (all of S1, the race missions, and the first half of S2 in terms of storyline stuff.) So if you’re feeling persuaded, I guess you could buy the app and then decide when you’ve run through all of those whether you think it worth it/not so scary you wouldn’t want to continue on?

TL;DR: I personally don’t find it too scary generally (unless at night/with chases at night,) but it DOES start to get dark around the middle of S2, which might be something to consider when buying the app/deciding to buy the season pass.
