I've tried reading through the manifestos but with all the bullshit stuffed in I can't get any information out of it and from what I can recall of it, there was a lot of open-endedness that made it so they can't be accused of anything. It would really help if you could clarify the bits that effect the lgbtq+ community because my brain died while reading that bullshit. thank you for any information you could help with
I’ve written this out two fucking times and my shitty laptop has died both times so I’m just gonna be brief
- the manifestos are written purposefully to appeal to everyone so ignore them, they mean nothing and are designed to give no potential controversy in any way. ignore them, they’re press releases.
- the NHS = good for queers. tories = no NHS. tories = bad for queers.
- refer to the link I just posted for how to vote to keep the tories out. idgaf how you vote if it’s green or ilb dem or labour but America taught us that ideological voting doesn’t matter - we have to be tactical to keep the worst assholes out.
- tories get in = people like me die because no NHS etc. tories don’t get in = we live.
- the interests of the young and queer are served by labour (and the greens and the lib dems) but PLEASE look up how to vote in your area and don’t split the vote so the tories win. WE HAVE TO LEARN FROM THE US
- sex workers getting STD tests? trans people getting hormones? smear tests for free? birth control for free? getting a Dr appointment without paying up front? DON’T VOTE TORY. simple as.
there are many better resources than me. but please look up the link I just posted and see how you should vote to get the tories out. I’d like to live into my thirties and I want everyone coming up after me to have their best life. can’t tell you how to vote, but please get as informed as you can and VOTE, bottom line.
