Came back to this today, I’ve been working on the lower half of it and it’s starting to come together as something that’s actually part of the painting. What I’ve tried to do is brighten up the tablets even though they’re pretty pastel in reality. Initially it was just about making a more interesting thing to look at but by abstracting them slightly I’ve exerted power over them. My meds are these things I take everyday to stay alive and nice to have at least control over how they’re gonna look in my own damn painting. Just a friendly reminder to my medication taking pals that we are actually bigger than our illnesses:)
Working title is: The Overnight (or planned one night stand) because tbh you gotta be prepared for it when you need ya pills to not be sad

Process. Start to finish, I wish I had more pictures of it in the early stages because lots of changes were made from my original vision. I’m really happy with the final product. It might be my most successful piece yet.
