Ria's first kill was an accident. The Hawkes were in Amaranthine at the time, and a templar got too close to finding out about Malcolm & Bethany. She jumped him in the woods, but underestimated him. He fought back, and she had to actually defend herself. Her dagger slipped so easily under his helmet, and before she knew it she was covered in his blood.

The family left for the south before his body was found.

17. Flowering tea: What is a movie you can always watch? 

Seriously! This episode was a ridiculous ride that I never saw coming from the way it started. It hurts so much.

8. Game of the year?

I don't think I've played anything new or new-to-me this year, actually. Most of the year was spent on Skyrim, and I'm on a new Final Fantasy kick replaying FFX. I was going to play Stray when it first came out, but first I never got around to it and then everything with Mina happened. I think I might get around to Stray soon, but it won't be in time for this year.

14. Favorite book you read this year?

Dracula and A Christmas Carol are the only thing's I've finished, and of those I preferred Dracula even with its confusing format (I read both Dracula Daily and as-published at the same time, so that made it even more confusing).

27 - Top 3 planets to visit

The problem with this question is that a lot of it depends on what timeframe we’re looking at. I mean, Coruscant’s way, way up there, but I’d really rather it not be during the Sacking. I’d love to see what reclamation efforts did for Taris but I’d really rather not be there during that point when Malak blew it up to the point where it needed that amount of reclamation. And, because my favourite TOR RP character is Miraluka, I’d like to see Alpheridies, but probably during one of the points when it was a Republic world, rather than when it was being stamped on by the Sith Empires of Exar Kun and Darth Revan (respectively) and then the Yuuzhan Vong Empire after them. That’s the problem with “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away” - unless you’re specifying a timeline, it’s a little hard to pick a planet that’s not getting stamped on by an evil Empire or just plain blown up at some point or other.

33 - Which movie have you watched the most?

Noooooooooot a fair question. See, it’d have to be one of the Original Trilogy, because I first watched those at the cinema when Return of the Jedi first came out in 1983 (the local cinema brought out the first two on revival when RotJ came out and I was a little young for TESB at age 3 and ANH at something like four months old), and have watched them regularly ever since, but I can’t pick just one of those because it is physically godsdamned impossible for me to watch one of those without the others. I can’t do it. So can I just answer “the original trilogy” to this and have done? If not - too bad, because I’ve watched those three an equal number of times (probably somewhere in the low triple figures by now, since I am 44 and again, have watched them regularly ever since).

6. Do you prefer writing shorter, standalone fics or longer, multi-chapter stories?

I prefer shorter fics, usually standalone or ones with only a handful of chapters. I feel like I can write a more concise and interesting fic if I'm not trying to juggle a million different plot points.

24. What advice would you give to someone who wants to start writing fanfiction?

Read. Read books, fanfiction, poetry. It helps immensely with your vocabulary and can also spark creativity in ways you never expected.

31. Do you prefer writing from a single character's perspective or switching between different viewpoints?

So...how did any of your Rook's decide between Minrathous and Treviso?

Oh, this was painful. Originally, Kaela picked Minrathous, because it was home. Her family was there, etc etc. But then I had to go make the meta decision to back that up and pick Treviso instead. Minrathous has defenses it can fall back on after all, plus I wanted to bone Lucanis. So, in-universe, she picks Treviso now. Minrathous has all of its magisters, and Templars, and bloody lasers shooting down from the palace attacking the streets--it can handle one dragon. She does send Lace to try and find her brother for additional help, that way there'd be a Mercar helping both cities.
