Tonight my mother was completely enraged while watching one of her tv shows. She found out that one of her favorite reality (HAH) tv shows had a particular person saying something that was rather...cringe-worthy. “You’re in this family because I gave birth to you. But that’s still to be confirmed.” That was the line on the reality show that was said. Just one of those things that a biologically related family really isn’t going to give two fucks about because it’s not that important. The wording isn’t that important because “lol everyone’s related so nobody has to go through that insecurity”. Usually I'm the one to start spitting acid over things like this. Instead my mother was the one about to enter the tv with a chainsaw and about to educate on how biological or adoptive means nothing and family is based on love, not obligation of blood or a payback system that a parent places upon a child until they’re eighteen. In a way I’m kind of happy she’s getting a little more sensitive to this as I’ve become an adult. I know she was always in “mama bear attack mode” when I was little, but seeing her now examining her own shows for just how insensitive people can be? Kinda nice. But my mother has always been on my side. “DID YOU HEAR THIS BITCH?!” Yes mom. I heard that bitch. She’s a bitch. Not much I can do about it when the entire country holds the same opinion and upbringing about adopted people, but yes. They’re bitches. This is what I have to deal with. This is what WE have to deal with. I know mom. That BITCH.
