Shortwave Memories - Biosphere (2022, Biophon Records) is a veteran act, hailing from the school of early 1990s IDM and ambient techno and downtempo. Maybe one of the more obscure names from that era, but well respected. Geir Jenssen has remain active all these years, staying true to the testament of ambient.
On his latest full-length, Shortwave Memories, is a tight set made up of transitioning, pulsating rhythms, almost sounding like a DJ mix within itself, with tracks ebbing in and out from another. Time has become irrelevant as the familiar, syncopated, industrial drum machine production is layered upon crisp and cool ambient soundscapes.
