jevon fulbright & roxxy montague! while this story is predominantly fantasy/adventure, it’s also a love story - their love story. just a pair of boyfriends trying to stop an evil cult leader from kickstarting a war between the gods while also being exceptionally homoerotic.
... if i may go into detail about them, however, jevon is the main protagonist, a young bard who hails from an alternative world that was created by a banished goddess known as “agartha”. however, twelve years prior to the main events of the story, agartha met its destruction by the hands of jevon’s traitorous father, joseph, an ex-hero turned mad. he even went as far as to slaughter jevon’s mother, lorelai, and left agartha to burn while joseph fled to the next world - gaea, the main setting of the plot - and established the lotus-eaters, a cult seeking to reenact an ancient war that transpired between the gods millenniums prior - the “twilight of the gods” (hence the story’s name.) jevon followed him to gaea and is now working to thwart his plans before the world is destroyed in the wrath of the gods.
whereas roxxy, the deuteragonist, is the crown prince of the kingdom of igerene - one of the world’s leading superpowers and partially inspired by italy & france. jevon and roxxy met when they both enrolled at the royal academy in igerene’s capital, alirense, and formed a fast and strong bond that teetered on romance. but roxxy was forced to leave the academy during his senior year to partake in a growing conflict between igerene and its neighbor, codoslia. but in the wake of the war’s end a couple of years later, roxxy and jevon reunite... and thus begins their cheesy, disney-like romance. while trying to stop an evil cult leader from destroying the world - y’know, your typical couple activity. accompanied by elena fulbright, jevon’s adoptive sister and acclaimed scholar, tomi akatsuki, a famous mercenary and leader of a guild known as the “luminaries”, mei-ling zhu, a runaway heir from a prestigious household with shady undertones, and last but not least, taya song - a happy-go-lucky traveler with a mysterious air to her...
