i used to bingeread wikipedia (yeah i was THAT kid). when i was like 11 i clicked "Random Article" and got the page about Sonic as a character. id had a couple month-long sonic "phases" before, but this time it stuck. reading about the series' history and reputation scared me out of being public with it for two years... but then Generations happened. that was a decade ago, and while theres been many more ups and downs since, ill never regret deciding to dive in :)

I was also one of those kids! I read a lot of Wikia/Wikipedia articles about him, then got the 20th Anniversary History of Sonic the Hedgehog book and read that cover to cover. You’re not alone!
If you like researching Sonic and learning about the franchise’s past, I highly suggest that book, if you can find it! It’s got details on all the games, even the most obscure ones.
