"I feel like it's draining the energy out of me," she muttered. "We shouldn't be here."
"Chill, El," Joe scowled, but Ellie could tell he felt the need to be wary, too. Katie was more sympathetic. She rested a hand on Ellie's shoulder and squeezed.
