I like giving little plant updates here and there, so hopefully, you don't mind them! Here's the syngonium I planted in a cork piece. I was a bit worried it would end up wilting or growing poorly seeing as it was originally at a horizontal angle. But nope, it just quickly and easily started growing straight towards the UVB panel from Zoo Med!

The 3-(4,5-dimethylethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5 diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay was used to investigate Angelica keiskei Koiz mi (Ashitaba in Japanese), a perennial plant belonging to the Umbelliferae family, for its cytotoxic effect against breast cancer cells or MCF, to an insoluble purple formazan by the action of mitochondrial reductase. Formazan is then solubilized and the concentration determined by optical density at 570nm. The plant extract is not cytotoxic to breast cancer cells and has no impact even at high concentrations. These findings indicate that the plant extract has a detrimental effect on the cell. Furthermore, prior to testing, the components of the plant extract must be extracted.

ASSESSMENT OF CRUDE EXTRACT YIELD AND In-vitro ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF SEA STAR FROM PHILIPPINES | Â UTTAR PRADESH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGY
Echinoderms have recently been discovered to have a variety of bioactive chemicals with potential therapeutic use. Sea stars and sea cucumbers produced the most novel marine natural products of the five echinoderm classes studied. The Philippines' archipelagic nature allows it to provide habitats for a wide range of aquatic creatures, including sea stars. Even still, many of these marine organisms' pharmacological and biological functions have yet to be investigated. In order to investigate the crude extract yield, antioxidant activity, and IC50 values of common sea stars in the Philippines, this research was conducted. The antioxidant properties of aqueous, ethyl acetate, and hexane extracts were determined using DPPH radical scavenging activity, which was determined using standard procedures. Aqueous extract consistently produced the highest yield in terms of crude extract yield. Compared to the other solvents examined, the aqueous extract showed the highest IC50 values for A. planci and P. nodosus in terms of antioxidant activity. Overall, the antioxidant activity of the aqueous extract of A. planci was the highest. It is suggested that more research be done into isolating and understanding the antioxidant chemicals found in these species.

Unbalanced PUFA ratio deregulate dopamine in utero: and the offspring get "hedonic" on food
Unbalanced PUFA ratio deregulate dopamine in utero: and the offspring get “hedonic” on food
Omega-6 fats are found in grapeseed oil, corn oil and sesame oil, and are a staple of several salad dressings in world cuisine. Omega-3 fats are found in fish, perilla oil, and linseed oil. A diet balanced with these fats is considered essential for healthy brain growth. Pregnant mice fed a diet high in omega-6 fats and low in omega-3 fats produce offspring that go on to exhibit “hedonic”…

The demand for naturally occurring bioactive molecules such as antioxidant, anticancer and antimicrobial properties is emerging globally. More and more natural products are being investigated to isolate and characterize the bioactive small molecules. Therefore, the current research work was undertaken to isolate and characterize bioactive compounds from leaf part of Sambucus wightiana. Various hyphenated spectral techniques such as Uv-Vis, NMR, FT-IR and MS were undertaken to investigate identity of isolated compound. The study results isolation of Dotriacontanoic acid, an important molecule that possesses fabulous medicinal properties like antioxidant, antibacterial and antioxidant.Â
Biological Active Rakicidins A, B and E produced by the Marine Micromonospora sp. Isolate Guam1582
Authored by Joachim Wink
he bioactive substances rakicidin A (1), B (2) and E (3), were isolated from Micromonospora sp. cultivated after insertion of a diffusion growth chamber into the sponge Rhabdastrella globostellata. The three rakicidins were tested in various antibiotic bioassays revealing their selective activity against Gram-positive bacteria including resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecium. With the help of MALDI-TOF MS and RiboPrinter® analysis the relationship between the producer strain and 13 Micromonospora type strains (99% identity in 16S rRNA sequence) could beÂ
