So I was thinking of opening a writing shop for bios. I was thinking of a PWYW type of thread because I can’t think of a good price for them. An example of my bio work is (if you like it you can buy the dragon here):
Leena was the perfect hatching. Very quiet with a keen awareness for others feelings. She was the one who watched over the other hatchlings while their parents were away. She solved fights and would even scold the instigator. Everyone said that she was going to be the heir of the clan. Leena didn't want that though.
She wanted to travel the world. Leena spent most of her hatchling days with the storyteller and adventurer of her birth clan. They would tell how beautiful the mushroom fields of Wispwillow Grove look at night and how the auroras look over the Southern Icefield. Leena dreamed of visiting all of the places her friends told her about one day. But she knew it was only a dream. She would never leave her home clan because there was so much to do. Her parents weren't the best leader, or at least her mother wasn't.
Then one day, Leena's dream came true. Her mother told her that there were other clans in the world who could use an organized explorer or someone who could scout for enemies. Her father told her by leaving she would make everyone extremely proud. So with a happy heart, Leena set out to find a clan of her own.
Epidote was born of the Plaguebringer, and after sailing the vast oceans of the world, she has ended up in the Sunbeam Ruins as a respected member of a clan. She is stubborn and unyielding, but wise, and most of the clan supports her unwaveringly.
Many years ago, Epidote was a dragon of the Plague flight, one of the few Fae dragons that dared to live in the Scarred Wasteland. For much of her early life, Epidote lived everywhere in the Wasteland, from the Abiding Boneyard to the Wyrmwound itself, and one of her enduring memories from that time is speaking with the Plaguebringer herself.
They spoke of nothing very important, of blood and ash and such things as the Plaguebringer is skilled in. It was the god’s voice that stayed with Epidote for many years, hoarse echoing as if it came from deep within the earth, impossibly ancient.
After many more seasons wandering in the Scarred Wasteland, Epidote began to grow restless. Her journeys began to bring her beyond the borders of the Wasteland, to the territories of other flights. Over time, other adventurous dragons joined her on these trips, and one day the small band left the Wasteland and did not return. One of these was the ridgeback, Plagueblood, who has stayed loyal to Epidote ever since.
The band traveled across the Windswept Plateau and on to the great southern ocean. At the edge of the sea, they hesitated, but Epidote was determined to continue onwards, and where she went, her dragons followed. For countless seasons, they sailed the vast oceans of Sornieth.
The wonders that she and the members of her crew saw there are seldom spoken of, but they live on in whispered stories around the campfires of her clan. Epidote listens to these rumors herself, sometimes, and adds details to the stories where she thinks it necessary.
They say she saw a dozen ships swallowed by a whirlpool three times the size of an Imperial Dragon’s jaws that suddenly opened beneath the fleet. They say her crew battled a gigantic demon from the abyss, and she struck the final blow and tore out its heart with her own talons.
“Of course not,” Epidote laughs. “It was the eye that I tore out, the heart was twice as big as me.”
She always insists that they end the storytelling with the tale of how they had come at last to the Sunbeam Ruins, and a guardian dragon named Aura convinced her to stay there for a while. Epidote found that she enjoyed the Light Flight’s constant search for knowledge and truth, and has remained in the Sunbeam Ruins ever since.
