First time flowers on the Bilimbi (Averrhoa Bilimbi) after only 3 years 🙌🏾 Bilimbi we’re first brought to Jamaica in the late eighteenth century, from where it slowly spread throughout the caribbean and tropical Americas. The very sour fruits can be eaten raw but are often made into juices, marmalades or chutneys. Here in Haiti, they go by the name Blenblen. And just like it’s close relative, the starfruit, Bilimbi are rich is oxalis acid, which can be used as an effective stain remover and to remove rust from iron objects. #growninhaiti #bilimbi #averrhoabilimbi #haiti #ayiti #regenerativefoodsystem #agroforestry #foodsecurity #diversity #reforestation #abundance #eachoneplantone https://www.instagram.com/p/ChbEuZpuKy5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
