With the closing of the Southern Hemisphere window today, the BWT now looks ahead to the Northern Hemisphere leg, which opens on October 15, 2016 and runs through February 28, 2017. The first half of the BWT witnessed intense action at the Puerto Escondido Challenge as monstrous 35-foot surf at the exceptionally powerful beachbreak, known as the “Mexican Pipeline,” pushed the top big wave surfers to their limits. Moving into the Northern Hemisphere half of the 2016/17 Big Wave Tour, Baker will battle to keep his lead over the field.
