Today on #maxibeadmonday, we have a review of Artkal's 10mm beads. Swipe for pics! ⬅️⬅️⬅️ I ordered the GIGANTIC tub of 5000 beads. And I do mean gigantic. Compare with a tub of 5000 Perler midi beads. These ended up costing me CAD$0.019 per bead (including shipping) which is the second cheapest. Perler Biggie off of Amazon are CAD$0.013 per bead (shipped). The range of colours is MUCH better than Perler. More than double. Lots of nice neutrals. You can see that the Artkal beads are slightly shorter and thinner-walled than the Perler beads. The Artkal beads fit nicely on the Perler pegboards, but they did not melt very nicely to the Perler Biggie beads. The temps are very different. This might be solved with more careful ironing, I was in kind of a rush. Overall, I may stick strictly to Artkal big beads in the future. Price, colour selection and shipping time are very good. They don't play that well with Perler brand, however. Bead Day Redux! My Hama Maxi beads came in! Swipe for lots of pics! Here's a little review of how they work with the Perler Biggie: - MOAR COLOURS. So many more colours. - The little Tricolour is green and one row of white Hama, orange and the other row of white Perler. The size is identical and the melt is very nice. - Because I'm in Canada, Hama beads come faster than stuff I order from the US. However, since Hama are in Pounds, they're also the most expensive. - Overall I'm VERY happy with the colour selection and quality.
