In hindsight, they should have seen it coming.

Well, in fact, they kind of did.

Fitz is pretty sure that Jemma gets off a little on this, the risk. It is the only reason he can think of why she shoves him inside supply closets all the bloody time; it would be ridiculous to think that it is because her attraction for him can not be tamed and can not be ignored. Pfff. What nonsense concept would that be.

But right now, when they are five minutes- maybe less- away of being due on the hangar for a mission, they are definitely pushing a limit.

Thing is, Fitz is not good at saying no to Jemma, never has been, probably never will. And he can definitely not say no to her when she is pushing her tongue past his teeth and moves a hand up to scratch lightly at his beard.

He groans, and it’s in the middle of reversing their positions to place her against the wall and be able to kiss her properly when the door of the closet opens and he gets almost blinded by the light, all while Piper smiles at them boisterously.

Okay, on the cons list, they got caught making out when they should be prepping before a mission.

On the pros list, they are fully clothed (for now).

It wasn’t Mace who found them.

It wasn’t- chills run down his spine- May who found them.

“I knew you two love-birds would be here. May is always complaining about how you two are hiding in dark places to make out all the time.”

Bloody hell.

“Agent Piper.” Jemma takes control over the situation quickly, straightening her clothes and switching to her more authorative voice while he is still gaping at the other agent, befuddled. “We will get ready for the mission right away.”

Fitz finally snaps back to reality when Jemma takes his hand, but Piper hasn’t moved away from the door yet, still smiling like a fool, and they have to push past her to get out. Jemma is frowning while she leads him through the lab, like she doesn’t understand why her authority is not working on the other agent.

Piper’s chipper voice follows them out of the lab, and Fitz wants the Earth to open up and swallow him whole, “Don’t forget to wipe out the lipstick, Agent Fitz!”

The Sandwich is a really big deal for the fandom because it is part of their legacy. Something that’s been there from the beginning, a symbol of the friendship that they carried going into season 1. It started as a kind gesture to show how close they are, to highlight Jemma’s concern and highlight Fitz’s attachment to Jemma. It returned once they finally strengthened their friendship, not only that but it said “Love, Jemma” NGGGGGGGGGHHHH! THEN IT BECOMES THEIR LEGACY! IT’S THE THING DEKE REMEMBERS BEST ABOUT HIS BOBO (!!!). Still, as epic as it is... it’s more of a recurring theme spread across a few episodes over 5 seasons than it is a scene. But as much as I love it (It introduced me to Pesto and I’ve never looked back I LOVE PESTO), it goes in the honorable mentions pile bc it’s not what I’m really looking for in terms of “a scene” (or in some cases an episode of scenes) but I couldn’t bear to leave it out. 

By the season 1 hug, I assume you mean after Skye gets shot in 1x13 (there is also a wordless hug in 1x17 which is brief but lovely). That is SUCH a good hug. Like, it’s really a turning point in Fitz realizing the fact that he has real feelings for Jemma. Like We know 1x06 is an awakening moment where he realizes how much she means to him, but he ignores or denies it... But in 1x13 Skye and Fitz “flirt” undercover and then Skye teases him about it... and then Jemma also risks her life by jumping on a grenade. And then Skye gets shot. And it’s kinda like the show says “okay enough teasing”. Even though everyone’s worried about Skye, Fitz is going to find and comfort Simmons because she’s his priority and she’s going to fall into his arms where she feels safe. Such a beautiful scene as well, you can really feel it. Actually, I can feel ALL their hugs. Definitely another honorable mention.

High-fiving at the holotable was hecka cute, but nah. Sorry. :)

Making out in the Zephyr ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ehehehe. I seriously love the kissing. But dangit the scene was too short and the camera needed to swing around a little to the left CAUSe I GET SO FRUSTRATED that the best part of the kiss is hidden. and if we could have gotten some more build up besides “we’re on our own”/“i guess we are” LIkE that would have really taken the scene to the next level. so no, sorry.

The newlyweds being dopes and looking at their rings and calling each other “husband” and “wife” like those are their NEW favorite words to replace “Fitz” and “Jemma”. Their smiles LIGHT UP MY HEART. I CAN SEE THE LOVE. IT’S EVERYTHING I WANTED. Even though everything around them might be falling to pieces and wethey don’t know how it’ll end, but at least they’ve got THIS MOMENT. And dangit, when I made this list I had to make some hard choices. I struggled with whether or not this was a Top Ten or an honourable mention. But I just couldn’t cut it. Maybe my priorities are kinda screwy. BUT DANGIT I DON’T CARE. I can feel their happy glow in my heart. YES.
