Let me just say a couple things about going on this trip with Brian. It's been easy to simply post my photos with an air of lightness, talking about how my experience was "spectacular" and "magical" but truly none of it would have been as perfect if it weren't for him. He always let me choose the hiking pace, talked me through all the hard parts, and constantly expressed how proud he was of me pushing myself. He made conversation effortless through the many hours we spent on trails, and made me laugh so hard it was even harder to breathe going up and down all the switchbacks. He was patient when it took me 6 tries to get the correct manual setting on my camera. He let me switch shoes and socks with his TWICE when mine were causing blisters (#bigfootproblems/wins). He saved our backpacks from being ravaged by a fox visitor at 2am. He dealt with my hanger in between clif bar snack breaks. He made sure we always had fun on the less significant parts of the trip - stopping for gas station snacks, navigating foreign grocery stores (and never finding the peanut butter), taking ferries, reading all the signs at visitor centers. He has been the most supportive, sweet, and (mostly) funny travel companion and I'm feeling nostalgic and grateful that he was a big part of the reason why our trip was so successful. Nothing ever felt forced, but we pushed outside of our comfort zones and explored so many incredible things, and there is no denying it's made us even closer and better for each other than I imagined possible. I go to shoe websites and pretend that my foot will actually fit in all of those beautiful shoes. Then I cry and hate feet a little bit more.

The most annoying thing is having to ask a sales clerk to find your giant pair of shoes in the store room because they're to big to fit on the display racks.
