An introspective view on how an atmosphere of fear and violence is used to enforce control, Charlotta Perers of Big Fox releases her bold new single “Beast”. A single that’s best quantified by the dusky inflections from Charlotta’s smoky timbre, “Beast” provides a most comprehensive outlook into Perers’ musical prowess. Channeling the dream-like tones of its whimsical, lo-fi chimes to Charlotta’s easing vocal coax, the track is immediately juxtaposted to the gravity of its darker underlying.  Slowly unraveling through the hollowing slink of its Krautrock psychedelic, the track climaxes over the magnitude of its brassy saxophone culmination. A track meant to capture the gravity of Charlotta’s words, the artist behind Big Fox had this to say about her latest track:

“We're often so good at rationally explaining and justifying our actions that we end up convincing ourselves that we had no other choice. Maybe we didn't. But the heart never forgets the eyes of the one we have betrayed. The heart never forgets. I wasn't sure if I could write this song. Finish it. Balance it. It seemed so fragile, tipped over so easily. But it was almost as if it wanted to be written, needed to be. Sometimes maybe even the difficult subjects need their pop costume.”

As for the visuals directed by Charlotta’s musical confidant, Anna Brånhede,  Brånhede had this to say: 

“We knew quite early on that we wanted to have masks in the video, and Richard Szedelyis’ masks have this wonderful mix of elegance and darkness that we were after. We wanted to create a feeling of being pulled into something against your will, but still adding a sense of humour, magic and lightness.”

“Beast” is preceded by the rustic, guitar kindle of previous track “All I’m Trying” which will appear on her album “See How the Light Falls” slated for a March release:
