Sorry Not Sorry

I was amazed when I heard that girls and guys of my age here in Bicol are having TumblrMeetups. I was used to a community where people are into organizations, fraternities and sororities and not into blogging thing. There are some who keep blog accounts but at the end of the day, the talk will almost always revolve on the stressful acads or demanding organizations.

Needless to say, the nice thing about this kind of gathering is knowing new buddies. In my case, I first met three Daet bloggers who became my “ka-together” during the event. One of them actually took photos for this entry. Later on that day, I met more bloggers. We went home with plenty of giveaways from some sponsors and of course, great experience.

Bigger Better Summer at Bigg’s

Whenever I pass by a Bigg’s branch, I always remember how infectious my sister’s love of Bigg’s burger is and how it persuaded me to actually develop the same ‘burger cravings.’       

It was during my high school years when I learned to know more about this restaurant. I am not really a foodie kind of person. Ironically, it takes time before I actually appreciate a certain restaurant or fast food chain. Whenever I enter a food place, I observe every detail of it—the furniture, the utensils, the waiters/waitresses, the ventilation, the smell, the comfort room and even the kind of music playing on the stereo. It is just after looking to those details that I focus on the food itself—the taste, the uniqueness of it from the others and of course, the presentation. I am not that perfectionist but I always want to consider the reasons why I have to come back to a particular place to dine again. And that for me is one thing that wise customers should do.  

After coming back to Bigg’s for many times, I realized that it passed my standards of what a diner should be. Compared to fast food chains and other restaurants in the city, Bigg’s has this touch of Bicolano culture that I guess is one of the major reasons why Bicolanos are continuously supporting it and of course, gushing about its wide array of great food choices. It is undeniable that Bigg’s awesomely satisfies taste buds of all those pleasure seekers and foodies out there.

Last April 11, I felt blessed because I was able to attend Bigg’s Bigger Better Summer launching event at their Magsaysay branch together with some Bicolano bloggers and writers. I hardly knew anyone since I was away from the province for many years but I always love meeting new people so the event went smooth and pretty enjoyable. We had fun playing games and sharing with others our passion for blogging and writing. Also, we got to meet Mr. and Mrs. Buenaflor (the couple behind the success of Bigg’s Diner) as well as the other members of the team. They talked about their all-new food choices especially dedicated to summer season (foods, drinks, even some activities). But of course, the best part was that we were actually able to taste their Bigger Better Summer offers. We went home with some giveaways as well! Yay! :)

Best Summer Ever- Celebrating Summer with Bigg’s 

Bigg’s Diner welcomes summer with their all-new Tower Burger, Mello Jellos, and their Sultry Summer Cooler Shakes. During the launching event last April 11, we were able to try the awesome Tower Burger, the ever-refreshing Mello Jellos as well as the Cooler Shakes which are way too good for summer.

What else can you ask for if you have all the possible fillings of a burger arranged in a tower-like form? Oh gosh, bet you will not say a word and just start formulating strategies to start devouring it instead (yes devouring). Well, I had that same experience last Friday. I was actually overwhelmed by its appearance (5x5.5 inch!). Caramelized onion, egg, 100% beef patty, cheese, tomato, golden hash brown, crispy bacon, fresh green and red lettuce—Bigg’s Tower Burger has it all! (What’s funny is that I feel like I already dreamed about this burger a couple of months ago. The moment the waiter appeared holding the plate of that staggering burger was like a de javu—an amazingly appetizing de javu!)  

What I like most about the Tower Burger is its explosion of flavors, textures and smell. I guess the fillings complement each other in a way which will entice us pleasure seekers to come back for more. Tower Burger is definitely a heavenly treat. I think it will actually be included in my list of guilty pleasures.

  Mello Jellos

Bigg’s Mello Jellos come in three funky flavors namely: Sublime Lime, Psychedelic Cherry , Groovy Raspberry. The name Mello Jellos sound so good already which, for me, makes the drinks more endearing and intriguing at the same time. I actually tried the Psychedelic Cherry and the taste was refreshingly awesome. It has this hint of chewy jelly and cherry—a twist which for me, suits the summer heat.  A must-try indeed.

  Sultry Summer Cooler Shakes

I am a big fan of everything Oreo, that is why when I found out that Bigg’s offers this Cookies and Cream Shake, I can’t help but to love Bigg’s even more! :) Oreo cookies and vanilla ice cream go perfectly together and I just could not ask for more.

To those who loves mango and strawberry shakes, Bigg’s also offers Ripe Mango Shake and Strawberry Yoghurt Shake. This wide variety of flavors gives customers plenty of options to consider for bigger and better summer!

  Bigg’s Kiddie Summer Spree

In cooperation with The Raya School Naga, Bigg’s will be having summer programs for children aged 3-12. They will be offering different programs designed to engage the kids in meaningful learning experiences for their best summer ever.
