I don’t hate either of the brothers. I LOVE THEM BOTH!
I do NOT think Dean is exclusively and irredeemably abusive to Sam and Cas. I do NOT think Sam and Cas are helpless, pathetic victims who just roll over and take it from Dean.
Dean would NOT choose Cas over Sam. CAS WOULDN’T WANT HIM TO EITHER! Cas loves both brothers, both brothers love him. They are family regardless if you ship them together. Sam is not an annoying third wheel, he is important!
For that matter, both brothers LOVE each other SO much! They are soulmates, they are everything to and for each other, and they can’t handle being without the other, and they are better together than they are without. Their bond is a love story, not a tragedy. Having each other is the one good thing they have despite how much shit they went through to get there in the first place. It is complex, it’s weird, it’s a little messed up, it’s imperfect, but it works for them.
SAM IS NOT AN ATTICWIFE to Dean! He is a capable, complex man in every instance he is not in a genderswap AU or transfem hc. Admit you’re into feminization and misgendering kink and just start tagging that stuff, please. It’s fine to “play with your dolls in your sandbox” anyway you want, but tag your shit!
Bottoming isn’t where penetration is “done to” a character as a display of weakness, submissiveness, violation, or helplessness. Someone topping isn’t a sign they’re aggressive, angry, sadistic, or dominant. Also someone’s diet doesn’t make them “gross” to bottom with?? I don’t care if you see Dean or Sam as the bottom/top more or exclusively, quit with these kind of homophobic & misogynistic notions without nuance or again, without tagging your shit.
Both brothers and Cas are fucked up, traumatized, and drenched in toxic masculinity, emotional repression, and the struggle to get out of their own head. They have done bad things, horrible things, and enabled them in each other too, but in the end, they want to be good, they want to fix their mistakes, and they care so damn much. They are not bad people, they are deeply complex, layered, and have been between a rock and a hard place so many damn times and come out the other side still clinging to their values in ways hardly anyone would if they were in the same situation. And that is fucking impressive!
If you cannot handle my canon interpretation and my headcanons, and want to argue only your interpretation is “canon” and “right”, hit that big ol’ 🚫 and leave me alone.
