Ok so I've been thinking about how Sally got to be behind Aidan's door and it hit me: of course she was! At no moment the sacrifice implied that the one sacrificed stopped existing. And then we have this scene in which he falls and dies just like her because her soul got to be a part of him. So what I think is: when Sally did her sacrifice voodoo she didn't just give Aidan her soul, or brought back his own. Somehow the spell links the two souls into one to compensate the weight of restoring a dead/lost soul. Besides, Sally lost her door when it appeared to her, so there's really no where else she could be. So, once the two should are bound into one, they're linked forever.
I'm going to miss it
