“Oh you golf?” Niall felt himself go stiff as he heard your voice comming from the kitchen, silently hoping you wouldn’t say anything as he heard a man’s voice say yes. “Niall loves golf!” Niall let out a small groan as he turned his head in the direction of your voice and faught the urge to roll his eyes when he saw Joey, the boyfriend of one of your friends looking in his direction as you pointed at Niall with a grin on your face. Niall just gave the man a tight lipped smile and raised the beer in his hand as a signal that he heard you, making Joey smile and nod his head.

“I’ll have to set up a tee-off time with him soon.” Niall rolled his eyes as he turned his attention towards the tv he had been standing in front of for the last half hour watching some hockey match he tried to act interested in so he could avoid awkward conversations. “Hey man.” Joey smiled as he placed a hand on Niall’s shoulder as Niall took a sip of his beer. “Your girl said you play golf and that you happened to be going to the course this weekend?” Niall looked over Joey’s shoulder and when he saw you smiling at him and begin to giggle as you took a sip of your cocktail he knew this was a set up, you knew the only plans Niall had for the weekend was to not leave the house unless he absolutely had too.

“Uh yeah? I dabble in da sport of golf.” Niall answered in attempts to ignore the part about playing this weekend hoping Joey wouldn’t bring it up.

“Sweet! What time do you wanna be there? I normally try to get in before ten but it really depends on how late I’m out Friday night,” Niall just nodded along as Joey spoke not giving him his full attention until he felt him nudge him playfully in the side. “Or really it’s just how late Susan keeps me awake.” Joey added giving Niall a wink.

“For da love of god.” Niall mumbled as he turned and headed off in your direction leaving Joey standing there confused. “Yer da bloody worst.” You brought your hand up to cover your mouth as you let out a laugh. “Ya had ta send em my way ta talk about golf? The man doesn’t even get to da course until ten! Ten! Who da bloody hell has dat late if a tee time?” You couldn’t stop laughing as Niall leaned against the counter next to you in the kitchen.

“Oh ten? That’s so late.” You teased as you placed your cup next to Niall’s beer on the counter. “Was it really that bad talking to someone at a party? You know a social event where you’re supposed to be chatty and friendly.” You asked as you turned and moved so you were standing in front of him. He instantly reached out and placed his hands on your hips as he let out a huff.

“He called ya my girl,” You raised an eyebrow at him as he pulled you closer to him. “Literally said hey, your girl said you play golf.” You just shrugged as a smirk slowly made its way across Niall’s face. “I truly don’t think da bloke knows yer name darlin.” You felt your eyes go wide as Niall chuckled as he watched you turn and look over your shoulder as Joey and Susan were standing in a corner talking.

“No fucking way.” You argued making Niall just shrug as you turned to look at him. “I’m his girlfriend’s bestfriend. He has to know my name.” Niall once again just shrugged as you reached over for your cup so you could take a sip of your drink.

“He also told me his tee time depends on how late da lovely Susan keeps him up on Friday night. S’a proper dick love, don’t know why ya want me playin golf or any other sport wit em.” Niall explained making your eyes go wide as Niall spoke making him chuckle as you took another sip of your drink, nearly finishing it.

“You’re just trying to make me not like Joey so I don’t force you to be friends with him.” Niall tried to hide his defeat because you were completely correct. “That’s a bit drastic babe.” You added as Niall let out a sigh making you laugh as you finished your drink and turned so you could place the cup into the sink.

“I jus don’t wanna do anythin dis weekend love,” Niall whined slightly as he pulled you into his chest, wrapping his arms around your shoulders. “Please don’t make me hang out wit em, s’like talkin to a wall wit em.” You giggled as you rested your chin on his chest as he looked down at you.

“Fine, I’ll tell Susan on Friday you have a stomach bug.” Niall smiled as he leaned down and placed a kiss to your lips. “But you’ll owe me.” You added before Niall just nodded and gave you another kiss on the lips.

“Anythin.” You pulled away from him and he raised an eyebrow at you when he saw a grin begin to form on your face.

“Kelly wanted to have a wine tasting party so I kinda sorta, offered our backyard.” You watched Niall’s face drop at the thought of having to entertain a bunch of couples. “Love you.” You reached up and placed a kiss to Niall’s cheek.

“On second thought.” Niall unwrapped his arms around you making you frown a bit as he picked up his beer finishing it off in a quick swig. “Joey s’not dat bad an I haven’t gotten ta golf in a few weeks.” You playfully rolled your eyes as you crossed your arms over your chest as Niall tossed his empty beer bottle into the trash can on his way towards the corner of the living room where Joey and Susan were talking.

Your first Valentine’s Day with Niall would pretty much just like your typical Valentine’s Day, he’d get you a card and write some mushy gushy stuff in it about how much he loves(or likes depending on how long you two have been dating)you and he’d end it with something corny like “Yer da light of my life.” Because he knows those little lines just make you smile, he’d also sign it with his full name because he’s just so used to signing things “Niall Horan” and he’d put the year at the top just so when you look back on it you’ll know when he wrote it!

He’d show up to your door with flowers, probably not roses; unless they really happen to be your absolute favorite, because “everyone goes for da roses. S’not really special when ya see everyone walkin round wit the same bouquet as you”. It would be a semi chill evening for the two of you, he’d have a reservation all set up at your favorite restaurant, maybe even make it at the one he took you to on yalls first date(he’d get bonus points for that). But he’s not very into giant gestures of emotion, it’s the Virgo in him lol but he is very detail oriented so you’ll understand how he’s feeling by the way you notice little things throughout the night.

Like how he remembers that you like wine on special occasions so he orders your favorite red wine, how he knows you get cold in restaurants so he has one of your cardigans in his backseat that you left at his place just waiting for you if you need it, how he knows that when you go through the trouble of doing your hair you dont like the AC blasting on your face so he makes a point to tilt them so they are mainly facing him(honestly this might just be a me thing lol sorry!!) and what gets you the most is that by the end of dinner while you’re waiting for your dessert you notice how his hand has been touching you in some form all night and you know it’s because you told him a few days ago “i love holding your hand, i just love your hands”.

“All of em?” You just shrugged as you watched Niall look inside a box of cookies only to find two left. “Dis was a value sized box.” Niall poured as you took the box from his hand and dumped out the last two cookies.

“Are you judging me?” You asked as you handed Niall one of the cookies, he just rolled his eyes as he popped the cookie into his mouth. “I wanted something sweet and those were the only things I could find.” You explained as you tossed the empty box into the trash can.

“You wanted somethin sweet so ya ate twenty or so cookies?” You turned and glared at the back of Niall’s head as he opened the freezer to see if the pint of ice cream he had gotten a few days ago was still in there. “Seems a bit extreme love.” He added making you cross your arms over your chest as Niall let out a groan when he saw the freezer was empty.

“Well the urge was extreme,” You explained as Niall rested his forehead on the freezer making you laugh at his dramatics. “But thankfully I only get that way once a month.” Niall stood up straight and felt his cheeks get hot as he rubbed at the back of his neck.

“Uh m’sorry I didn’t erm realize it was uh already dat time of da month.” You laughed as Niall walked towards you so he could wrap his arms around your waist.

“Oh my goodness look at that!” Niall let out a huff as you drag him away from the little homemade jewelry stand to go look at something else. “These are little wooden welcome signs, oh look they have one with shamrocks on it.” Niall looked over your shoulder and nodded his head as he took a bite of the pretzel he had in his free hand.

“S’nice love, but we don’t have anywhere to welcome people to.” Niall teased making you just shoot him a glare as you took a bite of your cotton candy, you dropped his hand so you could pick up one of the signs to see the price. “$50? Fo that? Yer insane.” You laughed as you placed the sign back down and grabbed his hand so you could make your way down the rows of vendors and head for the carnival.

“It was handmade Niall, you have to pay for the labor and the materials.” You explained making him just roll his eyes before dropped your hand so he could place his arm over your shoulder and pull you into his side.

“Da Wood probably came from her backyard and she jus hit it wit a hammer and some nails, dats not worth fifty bucks.” You just giggled as you raised your hand up so he could get a bite of your cotton candy.

“You want to go on the Ferris wheel or the one that makes you do all these flips in a cage as it goes around?” You looked up at Niall who just raised an eyebrow at you before looking over at the row of rides that to him didn’t look to be very safe or even put together that well because all he could hear was the sound of squeaky wheels and the horrible sound of metal rubbing against metal.

“Ya sure you don’t jus wanna do bumper cars?” He asked as he looked down at you with a hopeful smile but when you rolled your eyes and headed in the direction of the Ferris wheel he knew you weren’t going to let him leave this fair without riding at least one ride. Soon the two of you were sitting in one of the cars for the Ferris wheel, you had s big smile on your face while Niall was chewing on his bottom lip as the ride began making the two of you jerk forward a bit.

“Relax Niall, it’s just the Ferris wheel.” You placed your hand over his and leaned over to place a kiss to his cheek as the two of you began getting closer and closer to the top. Just as the two of you were about to reach the top your cart stops making Niall look around with wide eyes.

“Bloody great, told ya we should’ve done da bumper cars.” You had to fight back your laughter as he let out a huff and crossed his arms over his chest. “Knew dis thing was gonna break.” You rested your head on his shoulder as he let out an annoyed sigh.

“Babe, have you ever been on a Ferris Wheel?” You asked making him look down at you with a shrug making you just giggle. “It stops several times before you reach the top, supposed to be like relaxing and stuff.” You explained making Niall’s cheeks get pink with embarrassment causing you to just laughed before you lifted your head so you could kiss his cheek a few times before he eventually smiled and chuckled.

Hi my lovey!! Oh my goodness this just made me giggle imagining Niall getting so frustrated that he finally reaches his breaking point,

“Yer not going anywhere,” he’d almost push you back down whenever you try to get up out of bed. “Yer sick and M’not gonna sit here and let ya keep lookin miserable, now jus lay down and m’gonna be right back wit some stuff that’ll help ya.” He’d lean down and place a kiss to your forehead before turning around on his heels and heading for the front door.

When he returns he’d be in a grumpy mood because of course the pharmacy he went to didn’t have the humidifier he wanted so he had to drive across town to get it but then all they had was the drowsy cough syrup and he knows you don’t like the drowsy because it makes you all loopy and fuzzy so he had to go to yet another store. So he’s a giant frustrated mess when he’s setting up your humidifier and when it won’t turn on he’s about to just toss it to the floor when you place you hand on his arm causing him to instantly relax under your touch, he’d look over at you and when you just give him a small little smile he lets out a sigh.

Niall wouldn’t be able to really focus, his mind would be replaying the look on your face the moment he picked up his keys and left for the studio over and over again. He knows that you’re probably at home doing your best to let it go, telling yourself that this is his job and he can’t just cancel studio time because you want a day with him, he’s in the middle of a “creative streak” after all. Niall knows be could’ve handled it better, not been so snappy and rude about it because all you wanted was to know when the next time the two of you would be able to have a whole day to spend together, it wasn’t anything to start an argument over but that’s what happened.

He would be pretty much useless at the studio because his mind just simply can’t stop running scenarios of you packing your things and leaving or just completely saying this relationship isn’t worth it and walking out all while he’s tucked away in the studio with Julian and a few other people who don’t mean half as much to him as you do. If he got any lyrics out it would seem as if he was writing an apology of some sort, like his mind can only think of one way to fix this and it’s with some type of song because he’s not the best at saying how he feels but he’s damn good at singing it. Eventually after an hour or so of this Julian would make the executive decision to call it a day because he knows something is up and there’s no point wasting studio time when nothing is going to come from it.

Niall wouldn’t even argue he’d be halfway out the door by the time Julian is done talking because he needs to fix this, he needs to know that you’re still at the house getting ready for lunch with the girls and not packing and trying to leave him. When he pulls in the driveway a sigh of relief comes out when he sees your car still parked, when he walks inside the house and down the hall to the master bedroom and sees you sitting on the edge of the bed slipping on your shoes all he can do is rush over and wrap his arms around you.

“M’sorry for this mornin.” He’d mumble into your neck as you drop the shoe that was in your hand so you can wrap your arms around him as well. “M’an ass and I shouldn’t have snapped at ya like that.” He’d explain as he pulled away so he could look you in the eyes.

“Niall it’s okay, I understand.” The smile you’d give him would make him know that you really did understand and you weren’t saying it to try to rush and fix the situation. “Your schedule is hectic right now, but it’s okay i know you’ll have a day off eventually.” He’d just nod his head as you leaned over and placed a little kiss to his forehead trying to help him relax.
