night eighteen midnight writings
a/n: i’m back just to post this bc i miss kim hanbin dearly :( p.s might do a part 2 if you guys would like it xx
there’s a soft sigh and then a quiet snore as you peer above the pages of your book. hanbin had been lying on the carpeted floor of your room for some time now. he’d arrived unannounced at your apartment about three hours ago with a bright smile and a plastic bag filled with sweet goodies.
“i walked past an ad for your favourite snack so i thought i’d bring you some.” he explained as he waltzed into your apartment like he’d lived there all his life.
which was becoming true to an extent.
after you’d declared that you needed to do some reading for a class, hanbin had whined and muttered a series of complaints for a good 20 minutes. immersed in your textbook, you’d taken no notice in the silence of the room - or more the lack of noise from the man on the floor. now, however, hanbin’s silence had caught your attention and you set the hardback book beside you before wriggling to the end of your bed.
on the soft carpet, hanbin was sprawled out on his back, his long curls falling over his closed eyes and his emerald green jumper seemed to swallow him whole. his lips were apart enough to allow an occasional snore to pass them and you smiled.
turning your back to him, you reached for your phone, checking the time displayed. it was far too late for hanbin to get back to the dorms and even if he insisted, you didn’t feel comfortable sending him off this late into the night. for you, there were no problems with having hanbin spend the night in your apartment. for hanbin? it was a different story.
“hanbin? binnie? wake up.” with your sock-clad foot, you nudged his stomach, eliciting a groan from your boyfriend. he rolled over onto his stomach, his cheek squished against the pillow he’d slipped under his head.
sighing, you moved to crouch beside him before leaning over to press a kiss to his hair. in a hushed voice, you whispered, “you can’t spend your first night here on the floor, babe.”
suddenly, hanbin lifted his head, only for it to collide with your own forehead. you cried out as you rolled onto the floor, rubbing the throbbing skin.
“you could’ve warned me you were gonna get up!” you whine, glaring at hanbin who stared back at you with wide eyes.
“d-did you just say spend the night here?” he stuttered.
“yes? it’s too late for you to go home, silly. you were asleep for quite a while and i lost track of time. i don’t want you to go home by yourself at this hour, so just stay here for tonight.”
hanbin’s bottom lip jutted out into a pout as he contemplated his options - though he didn’t really have much a choice. “are you sure?” he squeaked, scratching the back of his neck.
you smiled at him and nodded, holding your hand out to him, “come on, i’ll get you a spare toothbrush.”
