hi!! thank you so much for the ask! trans lesbian mike wheeler my beloved. so a lot of my headcanons are based off lesbianmikewheeler's original headcanon and her trans stranger things universe theory thing. but i'll share some of that and my own ramblings and headcanons. so mike is short for micah. i know most trans people don't like having their real name be close to their dead name but micah was the first name i heard and the name in the original headcanon and i stand by it.

there's a lot of coding that makes me personally headcanon it but also just vibes and because i said so. but some things: the gentle and knowing nature she does el's makeup as if she's had practice, her reaction to being called handsome, the idea that mileven's love is forbidden despite the fact that at face value, it's totally normal and straight and white, and mike's marking as an outsider feels deeper than just being a nerd. i hc that she grew her hair out in season 4 not just because of eddie but also because she was coming to terms with her gender identity and wanted to appear a little more feminine. a huge part of the reason she and el are having so many issues in season 4 is that mike's realized she's trans and is scared about it and feels disconnected from el and like a freak and she doesn't feel like she can express her love to el because she feels like el won't love her once she knows the truth.

i also have a lot of thoughts about her relationship with her sisters, particularly nancy.
