Summary: Luciana-Lee Fernandez was born into a poor part of Americaâthe Midwest where trailer parks were all she knewâand what came to love. Lucy loved exploring it was her hobby, she hated everybodyâalmost. Lucy saved Maria from her darkest timesâshe thought that was the roughest of it. Little did they know what lurked just behind the trees. What was such a small problem became Lucianas and Mariaâs darkestâdeepest nightmare. Loss of control. Step into lucianas shoes and find out why she is americas most wanted.
Tw: suicide mention, SH, murder.
Lucy was always alone, not a friend to call her own. She would spend her days drawing away, even as a little kid she would draw stick figures and call them her best piece every time. Her mother used to hang up her drawingâs on the fridge with tiny little magnets from their worldwide trips.
HoweverâŠthat was a good few years ago. Luciana is now 14, her birthday had been around 4-5 months ago. She felt fresh, happy, excited to finally be past the 13 curse, you know? Not being able to watch violent movies and films? Anyways.
Lucy found some newâŠquestionable hobbies that couldâve landed her in jail if she wasnât careful enoughâURBAN EXPLORATION. She also enjoyed the occasional smoke of stolen cigarettes, in her head? âstolen stuff tasted better.
This morning on JULY 21st 2009 wasnât any different. Wake up, stare at the ceiling for god knows how long, finally get up, brush her teeth, brush her hair, put on clothes she recklessly threw on her bedroom floor andâŠdisappear for the rest of the day. Lucyâs parents never noticed too indulged in the newest newspaper and as her mom once said âcatching up with the girlfriendsâ âŠso they never noticed Lucy went. They just knew she would appear at the diner table at noon.
Her favourite abandoned location was far from her house, far from society rather. Past acres of fields and thick grass that she would always run past afraid something would grab her ankles from beneath if she slowed her pace down even a little bit. The abandoned location was FILLED with patrol officers, she would have to use her sneak abilities well, the same sneak abilities she used to steal snacks at nightâŠamong other things. She would also almost trip at how many vines were on the floor, she did onceâtrip over the vinesâŠbut she doesnât like talking about it..
The abandoned location was an old, rusty, rundown hotel. Why was there patrol officers? Well crimesâA LOT of crimes happened within the building, hence why Lucy brought her trustyâŠkitchen knife.
Lucy wasnât ratherâŠthe smartest out of the bunch, she just did what felt right, felt normal. She sat cross-legged on a windowsill with a smashed window on the top floor she knew patrol officers wouldnât see her from here maybe thats itâs her âsafe havenâ. Here? She could breathe, could reflect on her life. There was no judgement here, no one to pick on her because letâs be honestâŠnobody came hereâŠhell nobody dared to step foot in this forest that surrounded the hotel.
KidsâŠteenagers, hell even adults went missing here AT LEAST every month, the cops canât explain it, itâs like they justâŠPOOF within thin air, never to be seen again. No traces or clues on their whereabouts, like they were never on earth at all.
Just as Lucy got ready to leave she heard it. A rustle of clothing. If she wasnât so good at hearing she wouldâve missed it.
She turned around slowly only to be met with a wallâŠand an eerily dark corner behind it. Out of habit she reached into her jacket pocket to grab her knife. She walked slowly, almost like when a cat sees a mouseâmaybe thats the best way to explain it. She held her breath listening out to the soundsâŠshe heardâŠbreathingâalmost panicked, she turned the corner with practiced ease as she pinned someone to the wall, the blade cold and threatening to the persons neck.
Luciana pausedâjust for a second before stepped back
âAre you gonna kill me?â The girl spoke quietly yet it had a hint of cockiness to it, the girl put her hand to her heart as she caught her breath.
âNo.â Lucy replied, speaking for her felt foreign, like her voice wasnât hers.
âGoodâ the girl let out a breathless chuckle, her tense shoulders finally relaxing âIâd like to keep my head in tacked thanks very much, charming offer though.â
Why was this girl so keen on keeping the conversation when Luciana clearly didnât want to? Lucy took an uncomfortable step back as she put her knife back in her pocket. Luciana began to walkâwalk away, she wanted to leave. However, the girl trailed behind her. Lucy let out a gruff sigh as she kept her gaze straight, it wasnât long before they were out of the hotel, the forest.
The girl still followed, it got on Lucyâs nerves so she finally turned around her hands in her pockets.
âwhy are you following me? Lost your way or something?â
The girl laughed and shook her head âno you just look lonely, and I can tell you havenât socialised enough.â The girl raised her eyebrows as she rocked back and forth on her heels.
âI was doing just fine actually.â Luciana argued as she stared at the girl standing just mere inches away from her.
âdoesnât seem like it.â She grumbled as she kicked a rock beneath her feet. âWell I AM doing fine okay? Now run along back home im sure your dearest mother is waiting for you back at home to do a lesson of how to play golf.â Luciana looked up and down at the girl, only reason she said this was because this girl was CLEARLY wearing designer.
Luciana turned back around as she continued walking but paused when she heardââmy mom is dead.â She turned back around and stared at her for a while too longâŠ
ânot my problem, missy.â
Even Luciana was shocked on what she saidâŠgod why did she say thatâŠshe bowed her head as she continued walking, she could see the sheer shock on the girls faceâŠkinda hurt her a little but why? Why should she care rightâŠ?
It had been 2 weeks since Lucy met that strange girl, she kept on reflecting on her actionsâŠon her temper, she feltâŠbad? So bad that an old habit came backâbiting her skin, she chewed at her hand and fingers until they bled.
Lucy sighed as she leaned back on her bed she stared up at the ceiling. She had almost drifted off of her brotherâLevi didnât enter.
âYou holding up alrigh-â he looked down at her hand. âLulu are you fucking serious?â
âOkay i know! I know, jesus im sorry okay? Fuck.â Luciana sat up as she put her knees up to her chest. Levi sat on the edge of her bed. âDonât do that corny thing when you tell me everything is gonna be okay-â she was interrupted.
âWhat happened?â Levi blurted out in a hurry. âWha-âŠhuh?â Lucy replied. âWhat happened.â He said, more sternly this time.
Lucy sighed as she ran her hands through her brown hair. âI met this girlâŠlike what? 2 weeks ago-â âsurprisingâ
âShut up? SoâŠanyways, yeah I met this girl. Donât know her name so do not askâŠIâll just cut a long story shortâŠshe followed me back to the neighbourhood andâŠyou knowâŠshe pissed me off? And with reason like why are you following meâŠâ she cleared her throat âi said something along the lines of âgo back to your motherâ right? Harmless littleâŠremark I guess? WellâŠnot reallyâŠUhmâŠher mother is dead apparently and I said ânot my problemââ at the last part Lucy cringed as she picked at the skin on her hands yet again to where Levi slapped her hand to get her to stop
âWell thats shitty, isnât it now?â Levi scoffed âFUCK! I know and I feel terrible dudeâŠâ Lucy gulped as she put her face in her handsâŠâdonât need to make me feel worse about itâŠdickhead.â
âHey? Im just saying the truth. Real, real shitty move, I suggest you find her again and bring her flowers or whatever you lesbians do-â
âLesbians?â Luciana looked up at Levi âIâm not a lesbian.â She protested. âKay so why do you have so many pictures of tits on your walls?â He snorted.
âThats a musical by the way and Iâll have you know it is my favourite, doesnât mean im a lesbian because I have their very questionable merchandise on my walls.â Lucy murmured. âAlright.â Levi shrugged as he stood up âgod why does it smell so bad in here?â Levi cringed.
âHavenâtâŠbeen doing my laundryâŠâ lucy confessed. âBeen too busy with homework and stuff and-â
âYou donât even show up to school anymore, lu. Donât give me that bullshit.â Levi cursed. Lucy huffed âjust get out then if itâs such an issue.â âOh I will, see ya.â And with that Levi opened the bedroom door before shutting it. Just when lucy thought she was alone he cracked it open again. âOh and dinner is done in 10.â He said with a cocky smile âGET OUT!â Lucy screamed as she threw a hoodie at him that only missed him because he shut the door.
âFuckin idiotâŠtelling me what to doâŠâ lucy scoffed as she folded her arms and laid back on her bed.
Lucy made her way down the hallway of her small cramped trailer as she grabbed her portion of food and slapped it on an antique bowl with a satisfied grin, just as she went to go back upstairs her mom called her name. âNo no. Sit at the table like everybody else, young lady.â Her mother said. âSeriously? I donât want to-â âsit.â She demanded pulling out a chair with her heel. Lucy mumbled something before sitting down.
âSo you wanna tell me why your grades are going down?â She stated, lucy paused mid bite before looking at her âyou seriously havenât noticed, ma? I havenât been going to school at all.â Lucy swallowed her bite âbullying got too much again. Couldnât handle it.â
âWell thats not up to you now is it?â Her mother retorted âyou are 14, luciana-lee. You are a teenager not an adult, you can make these stupid decisions when you are up and out of my house.â
âWell you never notice anyways.â Lucy mumbled. âHm?â Her mother questioned. âI said you never notice anyways.â Lucy said but louder this time. âI never notice? Mkay.â She rolled her eyes. Her mother was childish. Always wasâŠlucy could never tell if her mother actually even cared.
Lucyâs appetite slowly started to disintegrate as she put her fork down âIâm full.â She said blankly as she stood up and walked out of the kitchen and back down the hallwwy.
âYou are grounded by the way until you do your laundry!â Her mother shouted. Lucy froze mid step before storming away like a toddler having a tantrum.
Lucy was angry, she paced around her room like a caged animalâin her head she was. Soon she snuck out like she always does, she made her way down the darkened neighbourhood, hands in pockets and hood up. She had grabbed some loose cash from her bedside table as she made her way to a convenience store.
She stepped inside the door slamming shut as she scanned the drink isle. She picked a regular Pepsi and a bag of chips. Left the store with 2 bars of chocolate and a lighter stuffed in her pocketâŠand of course the things she actually paid for.
She went to the car park just infront of the forest she had grown to love. She sat on a cargo bed of an out-of-use looking truck as she began to smoke, her legs dangled off the truck as she took a sip of her Pepsi.
It wasnât long before a group of teenagers probably her age appeared, yet they paid Luciana no mindâŠtill one did.
Luciana couldnât make it out till she was standing infront of her. âWhy you sitting here alone?â âit was the girl from 2 weeks ago.
âI dunnoâ Lucy murmured as she looked at the floor. âYou want some company?â The girl asked placing her hand next to Lucyâs leg as she tilted her head to look at her. âNot really.â Lucy scoffed âlike i said im doing fine alone, yeah? So go back to your friends.â
âThey arenât my friends, just people I tagged along withâ âoh so you donât only follow me huh?â Lucy snapped. âIm still waiting for my apology you know.â The girl sniffed âapology-? What? Apology for what? I donât know you.â
âYou know, I just want friends. I donât mean to come off asâŠstrange. I just want friends and what you said to me that day affected me bad.â The girl replied back, she had a hint of lingering sadness in her tone, Lucy could almost taste it.
âOkay, fuck meâŠ.im sorry okay? There im sorry.â What a weak attempt at an apology. The girl didnât seem to hold grudges because she just climbed onto the cargo and sat next to Lucy âmy name is maria, maria Williams. You?â Maria smiled. There was a long pause before Luciana mumbled ââŠlucianaâŠâ âhuh?â âLucianaâ Lucy said more loudly. âLuciana? Thats a pretty nameâ maria grinned. âDo people call you Lucy for short then-?â
âYeah. Yeah they do, among other things.â Lucy admitted sheepishly. âSoooâŠcan I call you lucky then?â Maria giggled as she playfully nudged Lucyâs shoulder with her own. âCall me whatever you want, I donât bother with labels.â Lucy scoffed. âAnd donât touch me.â
âGeeâŠsorry.â She mumbled. It was quietâŠmaria and Lucy sat in silence for a very long time, Lucy thought it was calming, maria thought it was awkward. âSoooo uhâŠhow old are you?â She broke the silence.
â14.â Lucy replied. âNo way! Me too!â Maria responded âow!â Lucy hissed âdonât yell in my ear.â âOh sorryâŠhaâŠhaâŠâ maria chuckled nervouslyâŠ
âI better be going.â Maria whispered. âYeahâŠyeah.â Lucy agreed. âMmhmmmâŠokay uhâŠit was nice to meet youâŠlucianaâŠcatch you later yeah? Get home safe, lucky.â
Lucyâs mental health suddenly declined as soon as the crisp cold air of autumn hit. She didnât know what was going on, just knew she suddenly felt sluggish and she lost her temper 10 times for easily.
She had seen maria walking by her self a few times around the trailer park, she didnât know why till she saw the Maria lived in the trailer right infront of her, âgreat. Just greatâ Lucy mumbled as she shut her curtains. Did Lucy care about Maria? She didnât know she just knew she started to feel angry at herâŠbut why? Was it the fact that Maria was so set on becoming her friendâŠ? She didnât know. Didnât truly know anything.
Luciana had decided to sneak out that night, it wasnât hard after all and she could always climb back in before the first light of dawn struck. She walked straight into the forest and straight towards the hotel. Even though she was lazy she still ran past that damned field. She went straight back to the same top floor with the same broken window.
She sat, for ages. Just thinking back to many things like the bullying in school, her relationship with her mother seeming to get bad, that girl that canât seem to leave her aloneâŠ
Lucy felt like a hole was opening up in her stomach as she walked-almost ran to the roof of the building. Her eyebrows furrowed, her hands instinctively going to her pockets.
âKnew youâd be here.â Lucy sighed as she stepped just a bit closer. Maria was sitting on the ledge tears present in her eyes as she turned around and sniffed wiping the tears with her sleeve. âOh yeah?â She weakly chuckled, it was clear her attempt at âmaskingâ wasnât working.
âWhy are you sitting on the ledge?â Lucy questioned, she already knew the answer but was asking in a way of âwhy here?â âI donât knowâ she replied as she looked down off the edge.
âLookâ lucy sighed âI know im a bit of a dickhead alright? But whatever has happened in your lifeâŠyou donât need to do this you know?â
âWell what else am I meant to do?â Maria sobbed as she put her hands over her face. Lucy took more steps closer till she was right next to her, she rested her arms on the ledge as she looked at her. âNot this, thats for sureâ
Silence. Was all they knew in this moment, Lucy was just thereâŠsmoking a cigarette while also getting ready to spring into action if Maria jumped. She tapped her fingernails on the concrete the only sound that seemed to fill the air. âHow did your mother die.â Lucy filled the deafening silence.
âWent missing.â She replied before carrying on. âWent missing when I was 10 and her body was foundâŠwell what was left of it when i was 13.â Maria nodded her head as she looks at Lucy. âI miss herâŠâ she sniffed.
âI get that.â Lucy mumbled. She didnât truly get it. She had never experienced the loss of such a close relative before. But she didnât want to make the situation worse.
âIâŠuhâŠpfftâŠI donât actually get itâŠI-uh never lost a relativeâŠespecially not like that. So UhmâŠ.you are a strong person, Maria. You need to remember that and I donât think your mom would want you to kill yourselfâ Lucy wasnât good at comforting she knew that. But to her surprise Maria got off the ledge and sat down on the floor with her knees to her chest.
Luciana plopped down next to her as she offered her cigarette to her, Maria shook her head. âMore for me.â She chuckled as she took a drag. âYou like exploringâŠlike me?â Lucy asked softlyâmore softly than she anticipated.
âI guess so yeah, I mean I got nothing else better to do with my day.â Maria replied, she wasnât smiling anymore, she had such a distant look in her eyesâŠ
âWannaâŠgoâŠexplore a new place with meâŠ?â Lucy hinted. Lucy saw Mariaâs eyes light up, the distant look now gone. The smile came back. âReally? I would love to you donât even understand!â Maria giggled.
âGreatâŠletâs go then.â Lucy stood up as she brushed the remaining dirt on her clothing. âDonât ask where because frankly? I donât know. But I imagine we will find something? This forest is filled with abandoned buildingsâ Lucy attempted a small smile but it looked more like a downwards smile instead.
Luciana and Maria walked for what seemed like hours, the first peaks of dawn were showing through but the girls? Weâre determined on finding a new location. All of the way there Lucy and MariaâŠtalked, about themselves, about life, about similar experiencesâŠit was starting to form a friendship.
Something Lucy had never experienced before, a friendshipâŠLuciana stopped talking sometimes to mutter the word âfriendshipâ didnât feel right on her tongue.
Maria roughly grabbed Lucyâs arm to get her attention âLUCKY LOOK!â she squealed with excitement. Lucy looked in the direct of which Maria was pointing. It was a massive yet clearly lost in timeâschool. Lucy smiled as she walked to it. âShit we need to jump the fenceâ she sighed as she slid her flashlight under the tiny gap inbetween the metal poles, she began to climb and so did maria.
When inside the buliding the girls were in awe, looking at left certificateâs on the walls this school dates back to the 1920s but because of the state it was in now both made a educated guess that it became abandoned during the 1950s.
They stayed close, at every little noise they would flinch then laugh. This was a moment of peace for Luciana. Most of the time when she was with anyone but her family it meant trouble. So being able to laugh with someone else was like taking a massive sigh of reliefâthe type youâd take after crying for hours.
They decided to settle in a classroom on the top floor to discuss more things about themselves.
âSo yeah I sorta have a habit of biting rough surfaces when Iâm madâ maria laughed as she wiped a tear away from her eye, maria let out a sigh as she smiled âso? What are yours, lucky?â
âMine?â Lucy questioned. âyeah? Your habits, what are they?â Another beat of silence filled the air before Lucy looked at maria âuhhhâŠI guessâŠI smoke? I meanâŠcome on now youâve seen that. Under the surface thoughâŠâ Lucy undid the shitting bandages around her left hand as she showed maria.
âI bite my skin, i donât know why? I donât get anything out of itâŠI used to have a habit of it as a kid and my mom would scream at me every single timeâŠand my dad I guess whenever he was around.â maria took Lucyâs hand in hers as she looked at it âthese are quite fresh no?â She questioned.
âNo yeah, they are. The habit recently came back soâŠâ Lucy gently slid her hand away from Mariaâs grip as she did the bandages back up.
Maria went to say something but she heard something outside, a sound that can only be described as tv static, it was only for a split second though. Lucy hadnât noticed itâŠyet she was too focused on getting the bandage back on. âLucyâŠ?â Maria shivered with a tremor present in her voice. Lucy looked up at her âhm?â âDidâŠdid you hear thatâŠ?â Lucy looked around then outside. Nothing was there.
âNope, why? what was it?â Lucy asked.
âI donât knowâŠ? LikeâŠstaticâtv static.âmaria panted, suddenly on high alert as she looked out the window. âMaybe just your mind playing tricks on you, it happensâŠâ Lucy trailed off âbutâŠletâs just get out of here to be safe.â She finished off as she grabbed her flashlight and Mariaâs hand before navigating out of the school.
While on the way out Lucy stepped on a glass photo frame, her boots immediately crushing the glassâŠwell remaining glass. She looked down as she picked up the picture, she put it in her pocket not caring much of looking at it as if right now.
Lucy had snuck Maria into her room as they sat and discussed what that noise couldâve beenâŠnothing they came up with couldâve made sense come on now? A tv head? Stupid.
âHey uh, you know that picture I took?â Stated Lucy. âYeah? What about it?â Maria replied. Lucy took the picture out of her pocket as she looked at it, Maria joined in, leaned in a bit as she cocked her head to the sideâŠsilence yet again.
âEwww that one is uglyâ Maria commented as she pointed at a young manâŠwell when he was still young of course. Lucy chuckled as she shook her head. âShhhâŠhis spirit couldâve followed usâŠâ Lucy whispered creepily, Mariaâs smile faded as she looked at Lucy. âwhatâŠâ suddenly Lucy tickled Mariaâs side and they both broke into a fit of giggles and a mess of limbs.
âNoo Noo get off!â Maria cackled as she tried to get Lucy off her, but Lucy was stronger than she looked. âNuh uh, missy!â She shouted back with an evil grin on her face. âNo seriously dude im gonna piss myself! Get off!â Lucy jerked back as if stuck before putting her hands inbetween her knees. âOkayâŠJesus donât do thatâŠâ Lucy said with mock disgust.
The rest of the morning they were doing stuff friends would do, gossip, play-fight, talk moreâŠjust basic stuff like that. The picture they were staring at was long forgotten on Lucyâs bedroom floorâŠbut, it was too late. What was done was done.
Days had gone by since the incident back in that abandoned school, nothing unusual or out of the ordinary happened to Luciana or Maria. They were okayâat peace even.
That was until things werenât okay. Nightmares, hallucinations, paranoiaâŠthe sudden forgetfulness. The hallucinations were auditory at firstânothing visual. But the Sound of the static was constant, annoying, unbareable.
Luciana. being as introverted as she was, hated sociality as much as she did. only now craved a crowd, She would hang out with Maria everyday except they didnât do anything but stay in bed and make up silly little theories for their shared experiences and hallucinationsâŠthey decided it might be better to not go exploring for a little bit. Let things settle down.
âOkay soâŠhear me outâ Maria started âaliens.â A silence broke out before lucy chuckled and shook her head âthatâs such a shit theory.â Maria tilted her head to the side letting a small smile expand on her face âoh yeah? You got any better theories, Lucky?â
âI do actually.â Lucy got up from the bed as she opened a drawer before pulling out sheets of paper and settling back down on the bed. âOkay so my theories are thisâ she paused before carrying on âthere was once a family, the miller family. It was two grandparents, six parentsâŠand a hell lot of kidsâŠand-â Lucyâs words were interrupted âI got it. A lot of people.â Maria joked as she slapped Lucyâs knee.
Lucy rolled her eyes as she carried on âall of them are dead. At least that is what is highly suspected. They went missing right in the same forest we met andâŠyou know.â Maria nodded as lucy briefly paused⊠âwhat if the thing we heard was the same thing that killed the miller family? I meanâŠyou never told me you know? What did you even seeâŠ?â
Maria zoned out before sniffing and looking at lucy âuhmâŠi donât knowâŠit was something in the treesâŠit was very easy to miss if i didnâtâŠyou knowâŠstare straight at it. It was like blending into the trees like quite literally it looked like a tree. But also didnât if that makes sense? All I can remember was that it was veryâŠvery tall. Like beyond human, beyond anything I have ever seen before.â Maria thought for a second before shaking her head âitâs a blur honestlyâŠit was only a few days ago yetâŠitâs like a sudden gained amnesia in a way.â
Lucy spent the last couple of hours taking both their minds off what had happened, they played video games, watched tv, dressed each other up, hell even prank calling. Yet the curiosity was still there no matter what they didâa question that hanged so heavily in the air.
So the date was now September 22nd 2009 and Luciana and Maria decided to go to a library to see if there was any hint or clue for anything that had happened.
âFind anything?â Maria asked looming over the many books Luciana had splayed out on a desk. âNope, nothing.â Lucy replied her forehead resting on her hand in concentration. âThere is only stuff about ghosts from like the 1820s nothing about a static noiseâŠâ Luciana slammed the book in frustration.
Maria pulled a chair out as she sat next to Luciana. âMightâŠbe a crazy idea, but what if we go back to the hotel?â Maria askedâalmost hesitantly. Luciana looked up at Maria. âThats fucking insane.â âI know I know! But I meanâŠmaybeâŠI donât know we could get some more clues within the forest itself?â Maria clasped her hands together waiting for Lucyâs reply. Lucy sighed heavily as she smacked her head onto the desk.
Lucy doesnât know why but itâs hard to say no to Maria, so here they were running through the forest to get to the hotel.
They both paused a second to let the patrol officers stroll by, when they were sure they wonât spot them they ran into the building. When on the top floor they looked for any leads.
When finding none they decided to just chill for a second. âWhen do you wanna go back?â Lucy asked softly. âI donât know, definitely soon though I am freezing.â Maria replied, lucy nodded her head.
Just as they got up to leave they heard something orâŠrather Lucy did. Lucy paused in her tracks as she put Maria behind her protectively.
It wasnât the static noise that caught Lucy off guard but the sound of peopleâmultiple of them. Lucy rushed Maria to a dark corner where they both hid, Lucyâs eyes scanned the area till she saw them, a group of boys who were clearly under the influence.
Two members wondered off from the group and were heading a little too close to their hiding spot, only now did Maria realise the danger they were in. The boys had knives in their hands.
âThe cops didnât see you did they?â One of them asked. âNope, sneaky as always.â The other one charmed in.
Lucy decided to grab Maria as they walked out of their hiding spot to try and walk past the two boys. âHey! Woah? Gave me a heart attack girl?â One of the boys spoke upâmockingly putting his hand on his chest. Another boy scoffed and chuckled.
âSorry.â Lucy replied her tone full of anger. lucy pulled Maria close to her as they successfully walked away from the boys and out of the buildingâlittle did they know that was far from the end.
Half way through walking among the forest Lucy realised they were being followed by the same two boys. âDonât look back just keep walking.â She whispers in Mariaâs ear. They were easy to ignore till they werenât. They werenât following for the reason youâd thinkâno they just wanted to fight.
A small stone hit Mariaâs back and she let out a pained gasp before turning around, Lucy turned around aswell. âWhat do you want?â Lucy spat as she put Maria behind her once again.
âOh us? Just looking to fight. But I feel like we need introductions. Names Jack, right here is my pal Nate.â He said gesturing to the boy next to him.
âFight? Why exactly?â Lucy growled. âWe donât know you? So why-â
âBored? Per-sides you look like you are looking for trouble hiding in that buildingâ smirked Nate. Jack agreed. âHey? No weapons. Just fists, make it fair.â Jack said as he dropped his weapon, Nate followed suit.
However, Lucy wasnât going to give up her weapon that she secretly had in her jacket pocket. âWe donât want to fight!â Shrieked Maria as she gripped onto Lucyâs arm tighter.
âOh come on! Give us a show ladies!â Jack declared as he rolled his sleeves up. Lucy looked back at Maria they knew that if they ran away from this they would just follow. Lucy whispered in Mariaâs earâŠor at least went to till the static noise came back causing Maria and Luciana to flinch back and cover their ears
It was louder than it ever was before, it felt like a drill to the skull. Jack and Nate watched in confusionâŠMaria looked at them âcan you not hear that?!â She screamed. She couldnât even hear her own voice above the noise.
âNo? The fuck you taking?â Jack questioned, the boys thought it was just an excuse, just a reason for Maria and Lucy to get awayâŠso they began to attack.
Nate pushed Lucy to floor and began to punch her, Jack started attacking Maria, first a slap then a pushâŠLucy wiggled the knife out of her jacket as she stabbed Nate in the thigh before pushing him off her.
Nate screamed in agony âTHE BITCH HAS GOT A KNIFE!â Jack turned aroundâŠbut Lucy was already onto him and stabbed him neck three times.
Maria fell back in fear as she covered her mouth. Lucy went back to Nate and began stabbing him, she wasnât thinking clearlyâdriven only by fear and anger.
âLUCY!â Maria screamedâŠno answer âLUCIANA STOP!â no reply. Maria rushed up to her feet and dragged Lucy off Nate. âLUCIANA STOP IT!â
Luciana panted harshly, blood dripping down her face and body, she stared down at the now blood stained knife. She pausedâŠand realised what she had doneâŠshe dropped the knife as she covered her mouthâŠâwhat the fuck did I doâŠâ âonly now did the static noise come to an abrupt stop.
