dealing with a break up may be the single most difficult task we have to cope with, in life. i want to suggest a shift in perspective, where you donāt see the breakup as a permanent as a death, but rather temporary and exciting.

This is the modern day version of pulling the bandaid off quickly as opposed to painfully slow. Half of the bandaid is hanging off, and the rest needs to be pulled off. As a kid, I was THE worst at this. I would refuse assistance from my mother, and insist on pulling it off in an extraneously slow fashion.
The longer you live that bandaid hanging off your armā¦ assuming it will eventually fall off on its own, the more open and susceptible you are leaving your wound. To break this down, you are broken upā¦. your mind is consumed with a perpetual āreplayāā¦ and you are in denial that it is really overā¦ your insecurities kick in. Now you have to deal with the array of emotions that accompany thoughts that do not necessarily hold any truth in reality.
The day you are broken up, you need to proactively close all open doors, windows, peepholes into each otherās lives. How? Social networks is #1. ALL of them: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. and you not only unfollow them, but you let them remove them and change any PUBLIC profiles to private. Deactivate Facebook and create a new account if there is too much data linked to the ex.
Remove all of the memoirs, keepsakes, photos, gifts, and jewelry from your living space, work space, car. Pack up all the things that belong to the ex and put them in a box/bag that is sealed and ready to mailed or dropped off without contact.
Change your look. Haircut, hairstyle, hair colorā¦.
DPR (you need endorphins).
Buy a new perfume.
Buy new sexy underwear.
Change your sheets.
Move your furniture.
Break the cycle. Recreate. Start anew. Mark it. With the aforementioned proaction... You Draw a line in the sand.
You need to mark the end of that time and create AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, a renewed sense of excitement for the next chapter in your life.
Learn. Dedicate your time to a new hobby. Do something creative. Travel. Reconnect. Imagine all the time you spend thinking about the ex, or how much time you had formerly spent WITH the ex and how much MORE you can make of that time and energy.

loss+ whether it was our choice, their choice, or mutualā¦ we ultimately lose someone that was very significant to ourselves. the routine habits that we form during a relationship, are also the most opportune.
ego + when our ego is threatened (which is quite frequently due to our subconscious) we fall a loss of self. we experience feelings of depression, solitude, loss, inadequacy, desperation.
you are not alone. Enough thinking. Do something.... start w something small.
