‘Handle this, Kent’, Perry had instructed, or rather demanded of him. ‘Give up this bat bit’, and proceed with the socialite fluff piece he’d been given in the first place. After all, that’s why he’d been sent to that Luthor funded event. It...didn’t work out so well. The fact that he’d missed his opportunity to appease Perry White was troubling, at least until he’d gotten a call from one Mercy Graves, extending a private dinner with Luthor himself. This could fix a lot of things, he thought. Luthor was...odd, and being alone with him might have intimidated most people. Clark could handle this. At least, that’s what he kept telling himself. 

So dinner it was. 

7 o’clock, and at some ambitious restaurant in Metropolis. 

Well, he showed up - dressed relatively nice, and on time, for once. When he caught sight of the smaller man, he sucked in a deep breath before making his appearance, and offered out his hand for a shake.
