“Why…?”

Selma muttered to herself, pacing back and forth, pivoting every time she made a turn. She’d locked herself in her study after a bit of an unfortunate–or ”unfortunate”, as she would say–incident with one of the staff at meeting room. She lashed out at them for calling her brother ‘useless’ and ‘weak’, nearly beating them senseless, but now that she thought of it, maybe they had been right.

But if that was so, it didn’t make sense. If he was really that useless to her, then why did she still care so damn much about him, why did she still loyally stick by him day after day? He wasn’t the same nation as he was before, not as stronger nor as great, so there should be no need to keep him around, right–?

The door creaked open. She knew exactly who it was, only one other person had the key to it. She grit her teeth. Perfect, the last person she wanted to see right now.

She turned to look at her brother, mutterung a simple,  “…What am I to do…?”
