Best Route to Travel from Jodhpur to Jaipur
Driving from Jodhpur to Jaipur is one of those trips that, by itself, feels like a true Rajasthani experience. Depending on the route you choose and the number of stops you make along the way, the approximately 330 km trip takes five to six hours. Each of the three routes has its own special thing.
Route 1: via NH48 through Ajmer (Most Popular)
Jodhpur → Pali → Beawar → Ajmer → Kishangarh → Jaipur
Most people heading out on a Jodhpur to Jaipur by road trip pick this route and the reason is simple as the highway is wide, the surface stays good for most of the drive and you rarely hit bad patches. A lot of travellers stop at Ajmer Sharif Dargah on the way or take a quick detour to Pushkar before continuing to Jaipur.
Route 2: via Nagaur and Merta
Jodhpur → Nagaur → Merta → Makrana → Kishangarh → Jaipur
Slightly shorter in distance at 320 km but the roads through Nagaur are narrower so it takes a little longer. Merta is the birthplace of Mirabai and worth a quick stop if you appreciate history.
Route 3: via Sojat and Beawar
Jodhpur → Bilara → Sojat → Beawar → Ajmer → Jaipur
The longest of the three at around 345 km but passes through Sojat, which is famous all over Rajasthan for its mehendi. A good pick if you want a relaxed drive through smaller towns.
