22. Who are their friends? Lovers? ‘Type’ or ‘ideal’ partner?

Friends first: Elyon… doesn't have a lot of friends. That's not to say he's incapable of making them, just that his circle of trust is rather limited. Outside of the Grey Wardens, he doesn't talk much about his life prior to joining the order, so he keeps his friends limited to those within.

Lovers… that's a different story. Elyon had a husband once, when he was still among his Dalish clan. Elyon had always loved Baleth, peering at him from over the halla he once tended and hoping that he would one day catch his eye. He did, in fact, and their union was widely celebrated--more so after the birth of their son. When some of their clan members were wiped out by the Taint, however, their young son was lost, and Elyon was forcibly conscripted into the Wardens to spare his life. Both equally blaming themselves, they've been estranged ever since--all of that to say that Elyon isn't one for romance, and hasn't taken another lover since Baleth.

29. What is your character’s weaknesses? Hubris? Pride? Controlling?

Elyon takes everything personally. For a Grey Warden--surprisingly emotional, for someone who wears a mask of stoicism well! He cares deeply for the people around him and that can be his downfall--he takes the blame of others' actions, responsibility for their emotional state or virtues upon himself. It makes for a tiring emotional existence--and an explosive blowout with those who come to resent his smothering.

40. How is their sense of humor? Do they have one?

Elyon does have a sense of humor! I wouldn't call it particularly refined; anything that can be construed as humorous (and maybe things that shouldn't be) have a chance to make him snicker and laugh if he's not guarding against it. Once, he was purpoted to have found humor in someone's cheesy attempts at flirting?

5. Were they overprotected as a child? Sheltered?

Elyon had a peculiar childhood! I don't know how I'd describe it in regards to being sheltered… He had magical potential and was a competitor to be the Keeper's First, but his powers weren't as innate/strong as the others and he didn't have the makings of a mage--just someone finely in tune with magic. I think he had a broader range of experiences comparatively, for that, but he might have been safeguarded amongst his clan from outsiders.

25. What are their hobbies and interests?

Elyon is studious at heart! He loves to read anything that he can get his hands on (and has been known to sift through journals left lying around if its owner is not careful). He has a love for history, both Dalish and otherwise. His political acumen is one honed in the courts of Orlais; he considers gossip a hobby and an interest. Outside of that, he does love to try and adopt every cat that he meets, to the delight and chagrin of many.

26. What does your character’s home look like? Personal taste? Clothing? Hair? Appearance?

Elyon's study is deceptively and meticulously tidy, with books arranged spine-straight on shelves and not a sheaf of paper out of place. This, of course, diverts attention from the mess that is his personal quarters, wherever he may be staying, in which he insists that it is "organized chaos" and that "he knows where everything is" (and he does. eventually).

Personal taste: clothing and outward appearance must be practical but symbolic. The rank of Warden-Commander is not one that he takes lightly and he takes pride in how he presents himself re: armor, cloaks, formal attire. Too ostentatious and you have nobles accusing you of pocketing sovereigns, too tarnished and they don't have faith in your position. Armor is the usual affair, but when not on duty he has a surpising fondness for Ferelden tunics, warm and lined with furs. Hair is kept up when on duty but allowed to hang long and loose when relaxed.

27. How do they relate to their appearance? How do they wear their clothing?

Kind of ties into the last one, but Elyon is very comfortable in his own skin (not something he could say for his entire life, but for now, it holds). He understands the need for the perfect posture, the chin raised high, the unfaltering walk. He sees it as a reflection of his bestowed rank and his devotion to the Grey Wardens, something that he has thrown himself into since undergoing his Joining.
