Reflecting on the past can be dangerous. For some, they are more in the rememberance of what was. Time is quicksand and the more you struggle to recapture the past the more you are a prisoner to it. For others it is a springboard to renewal. You look back to learn how to move forward. We learn from our mistakes. Past performance does not guarantee future gains, but we learn how different decisions worked or didn't. Where we have come from, even if its an assumed history of a location you've moved into, has intrinsic value. Just because it's owned by someone, it still is a part of the community. The past's future will reflect on the present day.
