FALL RETREAT 2015
We had a blast in the Santa Cruz mountains and I personally loved getting to know my girls better! Here are a few pics to summarize the weekend filled with fun, adventure and awesome dance moves!! -K
A little later...End of School recap
The madness at the end of the year always surprises me. I know it is coming, yet I always feel rushed, a bit crazed and exhausted! Knowing that I only had a few weeks left pushed me to end my time off well in all areas of ministry; my relationships with my girls, my bible study, my staff team and various events along the way. To try and explain all that happen would be burdensome, but I will give you some highlights.
-Enjoyed leading the Events team and we capped the year off with our biggest event. Night At the Oscars (NATO) is an annual event where we invite students to dress up, make some videos and enjoy watching and rating them together. It is always a huge success and such a fun time. I loved seeing my team own it and how each personality brought something valuable to the completion of the event. It was awesome and we had over 100 students come out!
-The Senior ladies. These girls are some of the finest and brightest and it was really an honor getting to sit in a room with them each week for 2 hours and hear about their lives and what God had been teaching them. It amazes me and makes me so glad to work for a organization whose vision is to see every senior be sent out to be a lifelong laborer for Christ, wherever they go. I know these ladies are ready and able to pursue that vision and it was so fun co-leading with Meagan and seeing all of it happen!
-Coaching Cate and Marissa. I had the privilege to coach two of our interns through some curriculum and training this year. Both ladies were so crucial to our staff team, gifted with abilities that I admired (graphic and creative arts), but they also brought different views, perspectives and experiences to our team helping us to thrive and grow. I honestly felt like I learned so much from them and came away with two great friendships. Both gals are pursuing their talents and skills outside of Cru this next year. I am so proud of how they have grown and their boldness in taking steps of faith this next year. Praying for them to stay local, selfishly, but also know that God has incredible plans for them.
-Lastly my year at Cal would have been radically different if it wasn’t for my staff team. When you get along with your coworkers and have fun while working, you kinda forget you are working! Each person on my team pushed me to be a better follower of Christ, teammate, friend and person. The ups and down of college ministry can be overwhelming if you do not have a supportive team. Thankfully, God did some crazy cool things at Cal with my team, and it just was so fun to live life and pursue Cal students with them.
Again, that was just a snapshot of what the end of campus looked like! Feel free to email me/ message me for more stories!
