15. Last Kiss
Celeste kept her blue eyes trained on his face, her fingers curled at the ends of her hair, tightening around her curls. The silence almost seemed deafening, his gaze making her skin crawl. Celeste didn’t like the attention. At one point the game they played had almost been intriguing and the one thing that had kept her away was the one thing that he did to her in the end. She’d spent so long trying to keep herself from being hurt and then-he’d just disappeared. No note, no letter, no phone call.
"I’m not doing this anymore." Celeste finally murmured as she found her voice. Her hands fell to her sides, clutching the armrests of the metal chair outside the cafe. For a moment, her gaze swept over his face. "Goodbye, Matthew." she murmured.
As she rose from her seat, she hesitated for a moment before she leaned forward. A curtain of curls swept past her shoulders as she leaned in, her lips pressing gently to his. As she broke the kiss, she met his gaze. “Please, just leave me alone from now on.”
