“So? Where’s your attitude, now, Beckman?” It had been a difficult fight and while Crocodile ended up victorious, he knew that he could have left his skin back there. Never underestimate the first mate of a Yonko. This time, the sandman was not responsible for this fight. If he had provoked Shanks in the past, his attitude toward the male’s crew mates was totally neutral. It just so happened that a certain first mate had heard, or seen, the results of Shanks and Crocodile’s last encounter.
Not that he cared. Not in the least.
“Are you proud? Does your misplaced, nasty jealousy feels satisfied with this outcome, which was unavoidable? I have to commend you, your fighting skills and haki are impressive. I would have avoided this fight if I could have helped it. But you came here with the intention to kill so I had to do something.” His expression grew somber and his smile all but faded.
“I’ll be calling Red Hair to come pick you up after I dropped you somewhere on an island. But I am not letting you leave unpunished. For reasons you are probably aware of, my hands are tied. I cannot kill you. It’s not the desire that is lacking, believe me.” He was still going to make sure Beckman understood his place in the deal between him and his captain.

It had been a tougher day than she would like to admit. Miss Elizabeth was out of reach, not that she would go to the woman about this anyway. She just felt... lonely. Everywhere she looked, people had relationships. Built up from years being with someone.
How did people do that? How did they get close to people? She had her dog, and of course she loved him, but maybe having some more humans in her life wouldn’t be the worst thing? Girlfriends. Guy friends. Someone to look out for her.
Then she noticed him. All casual like he always was. But he was too nice, he wouldn’t push her away. He might try to be surly and sassy but he was kind, she had talked to him enough to know that. So she approached him, holding back her own tears- trying to ignore the loneliness she had been feeling. Quickly her arms wrapped around him, hugging him tight- needing to hold onto him.
