[The footage starts in the middle of a conversation. There is a dark room with only the light of a computer screen, and two voices are audible.]
“Yeah, I don’t think it’s doin’ anything… Nothing’s popping up in file explorer, at least.”
“Did it install anything?”
“..I kinda find that hard to believe.”
“Well, it’s a flash drive we found in the middle of the woods. What did’ja think it’d do?”
“I dunno. I was hoping it’d be haunted or something.” He chuckles.
“Well, I’m glad it’s not. God knows enough weird stuff goes on around here already.” She jokes in response, standing up from the squeaky desk chair. “That reminds me, whatever happened to that guy you saw at the park?”
“Dunno. Not our business.”
“Aw, c’mon! You just said you were hoping it was haunted and now you’re all ‘oohh not my business aren’t I so cool and nonchalant-”
“-Okay, okay, fiine..!” He interrupts, obviously trying not to laugh at her mocking and failing miserably. “We can look up what happened in the morning. It’s already.. what, midnight?”
[The footage abruptly stops. There’s a black screen for a few moments, before cutting to security camera footage from an interview. Ben sits across from a police officer, looking visibly shaken.]
“..yesterday morning, and she was just gone. I called her parents, she’s not with them. She left her phone,” He audibly swallows, trying to soothe his strained voice, to no avail. “I went through it, just to be sure. I didn’t find anything, she didn’t tell anyone she was going anywhere-”
“And you said there were no signs of a struggle in the room?”
“Y..yes, ma’am, that’s correct.”
[The police officer takes a moment to write something down, before the footage stops completely.]
