"Get your hands off of me. Who the hell do you think you are?" Hooded men wearing all black, were surrounding Y/n, a few holding her down with full force making it hard for her to breathe. There was no point in trying to converse with the hooded men, they wouldn't be able to understand her. They shouted at one another in German. Y/n wondered how a simple getaway vacation from England to Germany ended up putting her life in danger. The force pushing down harder on her back, making her wince. She had to be careful. She had to keep it a secret, but these men seemed to make it hard for her to keep it concealed, to stay under control.
Foot steps could be heard making there way towards Y/n. She tried to look up at whoever was looking down at her, the dim lighting of the street making it impossible to make out who was standing above her. There was silence, as if they were waiting for her to slip up, to show them what she really was. Y/n squirmed, trying to loosen the pressure from off of her back, receiving a kick to the stomach from the man standing above her. Y/n let out a cry of pain as her jet black wings ripped through her sweater, opening up to its full size. Before she could turn to face the hooded men, a sharp pain hit her neck, liquid flushing through her veins. Her head spun as her vision began to blur. Her eyes shut as her body collapsed to the hard concrete floor.
Y/n woke in pain, her entire body was crammed into what seemed like a tight box. As her vision was slowly recovering, shouting and yelling could be heard from outside the box. It was pitch black. She couldn't see. Where was she? People roared with excitement. The box was being carried. Her back was aching, wings tightly compressed a tiny box, claustrophobia beginning to kick in. She didn't know where she was but she knew she had to get out, but how?
A man shouted in German, the crowds roaring grew louder. Y/n felt sick. Nausea flooding over her. The pit of her stomach tightening. The box was set down, locks were clicking open.
"SATAN’S HEIR"
Light filled the box as it opened up, her eyes squinting at the sudden brightness. Her body was dragged out and throw onto the ground, head hit the ground as her jet black wings opened up, as if it was finally getting oxygen after being deprived of it. Her (Y/H/C) fell over her eyes. There was so much pain soaring through her body she could have collapsed right there but it would be no use. She felt a presence only a few feet from her. Laughter and chatter could be heard from all around her, as if circling around her head. It was all too much. The pain in her back and now a headache screaming at her to get some rest, to stop fighting.
Y/n lifted her head to look up around her. She was caged. People were watching her from outside with smiles on their faces, as if she was some form of entertainment for them. Her eyes then landed on the winged angel standing in front of her. His short blonde curly hair dripping with sweat. Large white wings spread out evenly across his back, blocking the view from whatever was behind. His wings were larger in size than hers, much larger. The jet black wings were yet to grow to it's full length, she wasn't sure if it would even grow anymore after all the harm and damage they had taken. Y/n stared in awe at the man in front of her. Never in her life had she seen anyone like her, someone with wings. No one had wings protruding from their back. It was a curse, or so she was told by her parents. They claimed she was the devil's child, a demon. Memories of her childhood flashed before her, her father trying his utmost best to rid her from those thorns. He'd cut them, rip them and even try sawing them off her back. The pain she felt wouldn't allow her to sleep some nights. The memories still haunting her, following her to which dark corner she ventured.
"Get up and fight, or they'll kill us both!"
She locked eyes with the man in front of her, wasn't German it seemed. His accent was familiar, definitely American. It seemed impossible to get up at first, knees buckling, pushing her back to the ground. Slowly but carefully she stood up straight. Taking in the view around her. Cage fighting. She was expected to fight. Y/n's eyes scanned around the cage. Men with rifles stood around, eyes on their every move as if waiting for a slip up, so that they could shoot. The man in front of her leaped towards her and she ran to the left of the cage, just nearly dodging him.
"Fight!"
"I can't. I don't know how." Y/n looked at him with pleading eyes. Surely he could somehow help her out of this mess she had gotten in.
"Use your wings"
"I don't know how. I've never used them before"
A look of confusion washed over his face. There wasn't much Y/n could do. She was disadvantaged, both in size and in skill it seemed. Just then, the lights of the arena went out. Silence filled the arena, but that was short lived as the sound of a woman yelling was heard. The crowd all stood from their seats, yelling and screaming, heading for an exit, to escape. The arena wasn't completely dark, there was moonlight coming from above, the roof open yet blocked by the cage’s fence.
Y/n watched as the man tore through the cage with his bare hands, creating a large enough hole to fit himself through comfortably. She was quick to follow him, this was her only chance at escaping. Loud footsteps were making their way towards both Y/n and the man. Rifles going off, aiming at the two winged beasts. They duct. The Angel's wings threw the guards back, clearing a path for himself. To her left, Y/n saw that there were more armed men making their way towards them. She took the opportunity and tried with every bone in her body to get her wings to work and throw away the guards. A little celebration cheer escaped her lips as her wings swiftly knocked the men to their feet.
In front of her, the Angel seemed to have disappeared. Y/n took this opportunity to run for the nearest exit and out into the open street, not knowing where she was running to. She had to get far, or else they'd find her again. The streets were dimly light and empty. Not a single soul was around. No matter what corner she turned, there was no one to be found. Her lungs beckoning her to stop, to breathe. She couldn't, not until she was sure she was as far away as possible, away from danger. The streets grew dark. Y/n stopped. Her knees buckling, giving in. She fell to the hard concrete ground and she took deep breathes. The sound of very faint music brought her back to her feet, leading her to whichever place the music was coming from. As she drew closer and closer, the music grew louder. It lead her to what seemed from the outside, an abandoned warehouse, except it was not. There was people inside, or maybe just a single person. Not knowing who or what was inside bugged Y/n, her curiosity took over her as she found a door to the warehouse, letting herself in. The music blaring was almost deafening. The sounds of heavy metal music coming from above her. Her eyes landed on a shadow that rested at the very top of the warehouse, the bright moonlight making it hard to figure out who or what was there. A glass bottle landed only a few feet away from her, shattering into tiny little pieces.
"verpiss dich or should I say piss off"
Her body froze at the familiar voice speaking to her. The angel appeared from out of the shadows, making his way down to meet her. Confusion took over her and she watched him struggle to use his wings. They seemed to have worked perfectly fine in the ring. He grunted and stumbled before standing straight, looking directly into her eyes. Blood was oozing out of his left wing.
“Oh god what happened to you, are you alright?”
The angel looked her up and down, rolling his eyes at her.
“Why do you care? Did you not hear me piss off”
She couldn’t comprehend as to why he was treating her so poorly, what had she done? It wasn’t her fault he was put into the cage.
“I beg your pardon, why are you being so rude?”
The angel turned his back to her and walked away, heading off into the darkness. She hesitated to call for him, to ask if he needed help with his wings.
“What’s your name?” He called to her, slightly raising his voice. The music was still blaring loudly, although he had turned it down a notch before heading down to her.
“Y/n, although they call me Satan’s heir, and yours?”
Silence. She couldn’t even hear his breath. The music had then stopped. It was awfully quite in the warehouse.
“Warren, but they call me angel”
Warren. She repeated his name in her head. He was definitely not German. Although she couldn’t help but be intrigued to know more about the two winged beast who slowly emerged from the darkness, walking in her direction. It must have slipped her mind, but Y/n could now really see him, all of him. She could see his damaged wings that fluttered ever so slightly from time to time. His bare chest, marked with scars. At that very moment Y/n felt for the first time in her life, she wasn’t alone.

Warren P.O.V
It was as if Warren was living a dream. He was lost for words at what he saw only a few feet away. Black wings as dark as night, beautiful, outstretched, protruding from her back. Her, who was she he thought? She was just like him, he thought it was impossible. He thought he was the only one out there in this damned world to be cursed with wings. Nonetheless here she was in front of him, proof that he wasn’t alone, that he wasn’t cursed. No matter the circumstances, he couldn’t bring himself to harm her, someone who was just like he was. There was no use. They were here to fight, to the death. At that moment Warren wanted nothing more than to escape, no longer in the mood to fight. She looked scared, fragile, as if touched she’d fall apart. She lay there, frozen. This wasn’t fair, he thought. She was at a clear disadvantage.
“Get up and fight, or they’ll kill us both!”
Warren didn’t intend for it to sound as rude at it did. Truth be told, he was scared. Scared that they’d shoot them, that they’d shoot her. He knew the consequences if one chose not to fight, they’d be shot, just like that. The guards situated around the cage had no remorse. They wanted blood. Warren wanted to help her up as she struggled to stand, but he wasn’t here to help, he was here to kill. The audience was ecstatic, they couldn’t wait to watch him tear her apart. He felt sick. Warren knew she wouldn’t move, she wouldn’t fight. He took matters into his own hands and leapt for her, barely missing her before she dodged towards the left of the cage. He was going easy on her, but she didn’t know that.
“Fight!”
A feeling of worry flushed through his body. She had to fight back. She had to show the people what they had payed so much to see. Warren couldn’t help but look her over, she looked like a deer in headlights.
“I can’t. I don’t know how.”
His heart began to race. He wondered how she ended up here. How a girl from England got herself into trouble in Germany.
“Use your wings”
He tried, he tried to help her. To somehow get her to work with him. If she had only played the part of pretending to fight back, he could make sure the audience was satisfied. He’d gently graze her arm with his talons, putting on a show for those watching. But his heart sank when she spoke.
“I don’t know how. I’ve never used them before”
Warren was confused. How was it possible for her to have such beautiful wings and to have never used them before. How was it possible for someone as gentle looking as her to carry such wings. Warren studied her wings. They looked deformed, smaller than they should have been. Her left wing slightly larger than her right. Warren thought her wings just hadn’t grown to their full extent. There was still time. If only he knew.
The lights of the arena went out. Warren looked for her in the dark, the moonlight above them shining down on her, as if she had an aura of an angel. Her black wings glistened. The sound of a woman screeching snapped Warren out of his daze. He ran to the fence, tearing apart a large enough gap to fit them through perfectly. He felt her following him. Guards ran in their direction. Their guns pointing at the two beasts in front of them. Warren saw fear in their eyes. They always seemed perfectly fine whenever a mutant was caged. With one swift movement of his wings, Warren threw the men onto the ground. He needed to get out of here. He needed to go back to his safe haven. Just as Warren turned to escape through the exit, he froze. The sound of a bullet leaving it’s chamber caught him off guard. He tried to dodge, he tried to shield himself from the bullet. There was no use. The bullet pierced it’s way threw the top of his left wing. He winced in pain. Warren ran. He ran onto the deserted streets of Germany. Trying his best to get as far as he could. His wings weren’t cooperating with him. Trying to fly was useless, it only caused him more pain.
*time skip*
Alcohol soared through Warren’s veins. He was completely intoxicated which he was hoping for. The sound of music completely drowning out the world around him. He didn’t tend to his wound. He didn’t care. There was no use. It would take months to heal. It would take longer till he could properly fly again, or never. He didn’t seem to want to find out. Being alone in this abandoned warehouse gave him comfort, but that was short lived. The sound of a door opening snapped him into reality, his vision still slightly blurry. I couldn’t make out who stood just below him. How dare they disturb his peace. Without thought, he grabbed the nearest empty bottle of beer and threw it down, hoping it would hit them in the head. He missed.
“Verpiss dich, or should I say piss off”
The last thing Warren wanted was to converse. He swiftly rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands, an attempt to clear his vision. That’s when he saw her, the angel from the cage. With shaking hands, Warren placed his half empty bottle down and stood, holding on to the metal poll to his right for balance. His left wing ached as he tried with all his energy that he had left to reach down to her. The damaged winged drooped behind him making him stumble as he lazily stood up straight. The alcohol making his head spin. Warren felt a headache settling in.
“Oh god what happened to you, are you alright”
He watched her. He watched as she hesitated to grab his arm, to help him. He hated people seeing him at his lowest. It made him feel weak, made him feel worthless and pathetic. He studied her, rolling his eyes when meeting her gaze.
“Why do you care? Did you not hear me, piss off!”
The look she gave him, hurt. All he could do was blame the alcohol for how he treated her. There was no emotion behind it, no hatred. All Warren wanted to do was to completely forget today. He wanted to forget that his left wing was oozing with blood. He wanted to forget how he tore through that man in his last fight. Warren wanted to forget seeing her, seeing how out of place she looked in that cage. How she looked like she’d breakdown at any given moment. Mostly, he just wanted to forget her, the angel that stood only a few feet away from him, her eyes watching his every move.
“I beg your pardon, why are you being so rude?”
His headache grew as she spoke, her voice a soft tone. He tried to hold himself back from saying things he would regret later, but both the alcohol and headache made that impossible at this point. Warren turned his back to her and walked away, into the darkness, where the light didn’t seem to touch.
“What’s your name?”
Although being in no mood to converse, Warren wanted to hear her voice. The corners of his lips lifting slightly when she had answered him.
“Y/n, although they call me Satan’s Heir, and yours?”
It confused Warren as to why anyone would even think of calling her such a harsh name. She was no demon, no descendant of Satan. She reminded him of light, of the good that still remained in this sickening world. An angel, Warren thought of her as. He saw himself as the demon, as Satan’s Heir. Warren pulled the wire of his speakers, his music coming to a stop, filling the empty warehouse with silence. He heard her, almost felt her. She took deep breathes. He could almost feel her heartbeat quickening. She was afraid. Of course she was, who wouldn’t be afraid of such a thing. He was repulsive.
“Warren, but they call me Angel”
Wrong he thought. How very wrong. His title wasn’t fitting of him. He was no angel. An angel was a pure creature, innocent. An angel helped and guided the souls of lost people. An angel was light, it was beautiful. He wasn’t beautiful. He was none of that, but she was.
