Ever since New Year's, there had been an obvious shift within the shared apartment. Everything was different now. It didn't help that Cubby and Slightly were officially moved out, leaving an empty feeling in their place despite that they weren't that far away. Everyone still continued forward, but Peter hadn't been able to shake the feeling that this was the beginning of him becoming an outsider. It was something he felt would happen for a long time now, once everyone understood that he was immortal and they continued growing up. He'd been avoiding facing it until Tootles finally confronted him, and now his found family was starting to feel farther and farther away.
Forgetting to do simple things, like forgetting to get groceries when it was his turn to do so, used to just be seen as a silly quirk of Peter's. Now as Benji commented on his unreliability though (whether he was joking or not, his face was expressionless so it was a wildcard), the weight of the words was suddenly a lot heavier than they normally would be for Peter. As they both stood in front of the bare fridge, aware that it was Peter's turn for the grocery run this week, he kept his expression unbothered as he shrugged it off and closed its doors. "Hey, I've got it covered. I can order us pizza." Good thing he just got paid, getting his phone from his pocket to pull up the app and order. It was much easier to cover up his mistake with a quick bandaid than to take actual responsibility for forgetting. "I've got tomorrow off anyway, I'll just stop at the store then." Unsure if he even had the twin convinced, Peter still persisted in moving on. "Should we get wings, too?"
