Matthew William Goode was born April 3rd, 1978 in Exeter, Devon, England to Anthony, a geologist & Jennifer, a nurse. He is the youngest of 5 siblings. Brother James, 2 half brothers and a half sister, Sally Meen (Television Presenter), from his mother’s previous marriage.
Matthew married long-time girlfriend, Sophie Dymoke in 2014. They have three children. Two girls, Matilda Eve (March 2009) and Teddie Eleanor Rose (September 2013), and a son, Ralph (August 2015).

Matthew’s early years on stage were spent at Colchester’s Mercury Theatre where he appeared as ‘Moon’ in Federico Garcia Lorca’s ‘Blood Wedding’ and as ‘Ariel’ in ‘The Tempest’.
