I like Ben Again's other videos but objectively his Mermaid Swamp video was one of the worst ones he's ever made. "it has no message" BEN... THE STORY IS ABOUT THE EXPLOTATION OF WOMAN AND HOW THAT'S BAD BEN.
shamelessly advertising a yt channel i'm a fan of. GO CHECK OUT BEN AGAIN he's literaly such an entertaining youtuber and he covers niche to not so niche horror games. he's super close to 100k and i'm SO HYPE I'VE BEEN SUBBED SINCE LIKE 16K so go check him out! here are a few of my favorites of his!
if you enjoy horror, ESPECIALLY if you enjoy games that cover darker themes, this guy is your go-to. his content ranges from light horror to really fucked stuff (like the boogie man video) so if that sounds like something you'd like then go check him out!
If you’re not watching Ben Again, you need to.
He makes some of the best gaming content I’ve ever seen. He basically does story explained videos on games but he also chimes in with his opinions on certain sections. He also has a second channel called Ben Again (Again) where he has the full length long plays of when he is playing through the games that he covers on his main channel. A lot of his channel is focused on horror games, but he covers other games as well, like Sly Cooper and his most recent video as of writing this, Hotel Dusk. His videos are often sporadically uploaded, but they are so good that they are certainly worth the wait.
He’s at 77k subscribers with only 19 videos on his main channel as of writing, and I fully believe that he can get to 100k before he makes 30 videos. He’s just that good.
One thing I noticed in Episodes that compare Ben to his 11 year old self ("Arrested Development and Ben Again") He seems to be written as more mature than usual to contrast with his younger self (not saying he isn't mature other times, but it's more noticeable in those episodes)
Well, I would argue it’s more noticeable for that exact reason - that now you have his younger self (where his story began, and how his character started before all the development) to compare his present self to, side by side. I don’t think it’s extremely exaggerated, it’s just more obvious.
It’s also important to note that the times in which Omniverse brings back younger Ben, the situation is pretty dire or they’re flashing back to something significant that happened to him in the past, which would reasonably make anybody change their attitude. The whole Feedback situation, for instance.
I’ve made a post on this before, which you can read here, but to expand on that, in “Ben Again”, Ben’s brain is switched with his younger self, and he has to figure out a way to fix things while he’s mentally stuck in the past with a less advanced Omnitrix. In order to do that, he used all the experience that he’s gained within the time that passed between the OS and OV, and what he ended up doing was pretty brilliant.
Yeah, they did still use aliens to fight the bad guys like usual, but they couldn’t have done it if Teen Ben didn’t think to do what he did first. Which wasn’t only mature, it was clever and strategic - both things I’d argue Ben has become over the course of the series past OS. And you can see that growth when they compare them in episodes like that.

It's so interesting how in the Omniverse episode "Ben Again", when teen Ben's brain ends up in his 11 year old body, younger Gwen immediately points out how "nice and polite" he is.
Like, that isn't anything new (to me).
But it’s new to her because it highlights all of the character development that people seem to think Ben somehow ‘lost’ by Omniverse.
People like to go on about how Ben is "immature and rude" in Omniverse, but here we have a clear indication of how far he's come, coming from a character who, at that point in time, only knew him when he was the most immature he’s ever been (when he was ten) and only had that to compare his older self to.
hey can someone tell Pretty Boy to stop being misogynistic and ageist and talk better about female characters he thinks are 'unlikable'
