#bellumsaur

Inspired by seeing fanart of the gator cowboy character from that Digital Circus thingamajig, I bring you my character Hadvar as a sexy cowboy. A bit spur of the moment idea I had a few weeks ago, it just got sidetracked in the favor of a different drawing. I don't know, I really liked the idea of my big wyvern fellow shirtless and wearing jeans and a cowboy hat.

Had a weird compulsion to draw my fursona as a Eurasian Lynx, quietly sitting by a tree reading a book in the midst of the fall as denoted by the Truffalump Trees in the background. I had trouble with the pose since I hadn't really drawn the typical naked furry/anthro beforehand while also looking at stock photos for the pose I wanted. I colored the sky bright blue as it was sunny when I started this but the last week or two had been overcast and rainy and the last few days were partly or mostly cloudy but now today as of writing this, it's bright blue skies outside.

A bunch of the art I did back in 2018-19 around the time of Spyro Reignited Trilogy's announcement and launch. You can see the marginal improvement in my art and experimenting with different techniques.

Partly inspired by someone's artwork of an adorable dragoness yawning whilst wearing a yellow shirt and shorts, I looked through various stock images and whatnot finding the right clothes and poses for these three. The Daspleto's shorts I loosely based off of those worn by a woman whose pose I used as the basis for the Daspleto, since I liked the idea of the sleeping shorts with the lacy trim. The dragoness' undies I based off of another image woman's panty pattern, while I went with the idea of the Croc wearing blue/violet/indigo pajama pants off of yet another stock image of a woman laying on a bed. The Daspleto's scale and feather color pattern I based off of actual art depictions of Daspletosauruses, since I found them interesting enough to use; the dragoness I based off of a Schleich figure of an 'Ice Hunter' dragon which I again thought had an interesting design and coloration.

I don't know, when I watched my DVD of Spy Game with the Chinese prison guards at the beginning of the movie, I thought of a saurian or dragon standing guard like that in a ROC uniform. A couple months and a lot of alterations and distractions later, here it is, a dragoness posted at some location that she has to guard, it could actually be some military prison where foreign spies are incarcerated. Her uniform was based off what I could find of Taiwanese and WW2 KMT army uniforms and she holds a Type 44 assault rifle, manufactured by the Chunking Armory to replace the various miscellaneous rifles of foreign origin. Y'know, it says something about the state of my mind when I give this random female a giant rack.

I had been wanting to draw American dinosaurs in various native attire and I remembered the Mexica originated in the part of the Southwest where Dilophosaurus was discovered. It was a quick drawing I did off a piece of crap printing paper, with me mostly using both art depictions of Dilophosaurus and one or two paintings of actual Aztec priests to get the result I desired.

So here we have Hannibal Blackquill, a Montanan Deinonychus who hails from a native tribe who traditionally lived between Billings and Helena and whom had longstanding rivalry with the Nonsaurian Crow and Sioux (as well as some other Saurian tribes in the region). As eager supporters of the US government, the Shadowscale tribe have enjoyed owning a larger parcel of land than neighboring tribes and their members have fought in the Regular Army (as opposed to specialist Scout regiments) for decades, with Hannibal being no different. A First Sergeant in the 163rd Infantry Regiment, considered part of the Montana National Guard, he had served for several years before the mobilization in early August 1914 called him up to lead soldiers with little or no Army experience into battle. The regiment was assigned to the 22nd Division, stationed in camps along the Canadian border in northwest Montana before they and a number of supporting divisions and brigades were given the go-ahead by Lt. General Edward J. McClernand. In the early morning hours of August 7, orders were given to break camp and begin the march across the border, into Saskatchewan; the first day of the attack was largely event less, aside from the occasional skirmish with enemy cavalry and scouts. However, as the days went by and the Union troops strode further into enemy territory, more and more was there sporadic fighting with the defending Canadians, who were desperately trying every means possible at thwarting the blue-clad invaders. The weeks ahead would see much bloodshed and devastation in the late Saskatchewanian summer, as the frontl ines constantly shifted between the two mobile forces in a war front little paid attention to outside of the region, for eyes in both the USA and in Canada were set to the east where much intense fighting was ongoing.
