Bellhound info:
1. They made out of animated tar that is, not a truly living creature
2. It’s impossible to hurt them (see 1. For explanation), but they can be trapped (see 12. For explanation)
3. They guard locations, items, and in rare cases, people
4. They manifest either as a curse by an individual or a collective need of protection
5. They don’t die, just run their course
6. They’re silent, unless your marked as prey, then you’ll hear the toll of a bell, which is where they got their name from
7. At. 6.’s point, you’re already are screwed, they’ll hunt you down, no matter where you are and kill you
8. Since tar is made form organic matter, it breaks down their prey very quickly
9. Sings of a bellhound include 1. Mysterious disappearances, 2. Deaths, and 3. Reports of a strange noise, the tolling of a bell to be precise
9.5. That is the reason they hang around places that have bells, to make it seem like it’s ringing when it isn’t
10. If it’s guarding a location, they only lure visitors, not the townspeople as they aren’t seen as “prey”
11. The bellhound is nocturnal, so staying inside at night with your windows closed is the best way to protect yourself from it
12. The only way to trap a bellhound is to use a mirror that when looked into, traps the person or thing inside forever and there is no way of letting it out. It has a cover to protect people from being accidentally sucked in.
13. It has a bell (not an actual bell) in its chest that gongs when they mark you as prey/a threat and are going to kill you
14. For a person to tame one, they must use their blood and a piece of their bell
