He didnât feel safe. He knew he was now. Heâd killed her with his own magic and that ought to put him at ease but he didnât feel safe. He felt like any moment the pull of the dagger would come over him and force him to do something terrible. He felt that she would walk in the room and laugh at him for ever thinking he could be free before ordering him back into the cage. He stood in his living room trying oh so hard to pretend everything was alright but he just didnât feel safe.

Itâs been a long time since heâs had to come up with an alias. He hasnât been to the Land Without Magic since it became the LWM who knows how long ago. It was part of the reason that Merlin was in the library a book in his hands. Names, even here they were the most powerful of things. He glanced up as the librarian entered.
âHello, I hope you donât mind, the door was open.â Merlin lied. It wasnât that hard to pick a lock, even without magic.

Usually when the shop was filled with this much noise, it was when it had been bombarded with angry Charmings. Or Charmings & Company. But that noise was never gleeful, nor the presence warm and gentle.Â
Though âgentleâ probably wasnât the most fitting word for the moment -- his twin sons were darting around the front room of the shop with all the velocity of hummingbirds in a blooming field. Gold watched them from the counter, hands lingering on the file heâd opened, his expression of paternal watchfulness. And a smirk. He had been quite different as a child. The zipping energy must have come from their mother.Â
...who hadnât texted or called for more than thirty-five minutes, now. Perhaps his love had taken advantage of her time free from their little monsters to catch a much needed, well deserved nap.Â
Gold was pulled from his thoughts when he heard the sound of something small and heavy hitting wood. He looked up, eyes falling upon a sheepishly and guiltily grinning toddler. Indeed, the mischief in those eyes was very much like his motherâs.Â
â...Ollie...â Gold called with a soft sigh, trying to sound stern but for the hint of amusement in his voice. âBoys, we need to be careful. Papa has a lot of things that are heavy and can break.â He left the counter, making his way towards the two of them, ready to recover whatever had fallen and make sure neither of them had hurt themselves, though it appeared that they were both fine. âMama will be very unhappy with Papa if one of you comes home wearing a vase on your head because Papa couldnât get it off.â

The library was honestly larger than it looked from the outside. Dark eyes scanned the view of shelves before her before flitting to the front desk. There stood who must have been the librarian, Belle. And the Dark Oneâs ladylove, but that was another matter. Approaching the desk, she presented the woman with a somewhat formal smile. âIâm looking for books on human health. Do you have anything in that field?â
âDonât touch them."
Another werewolf in Storybrooke. No, not a werewolf - worse. A lycan. Though Ruby had never encountered one herself - hell, up until that very moment, she had wondered if they were even real - she knew this creature was no were. The full moon wasnât present in the sky, not due for another few weeks, and yet this animal was in its wolf form, snarling at her and gnashing its teeth, prepared for a fight. In spite of her own wolf and the abilities she possessed because of her curse, she was no match for the gigantic shapeshifter. Without even batting a lash, its grossly oversized paw swiped across her torso, leaving four slashes against her side, each one nearly two inches apart. Gripping the wound as the warm, crimson fluid spilled over her fingers, she backed up against the nearest tree, prepared to fight tooth and nail for her life. Before the animal could make its next move, a voice broke the sickly silence in the air. Both Ruby and the creatureâs heads snapped toward the sound, anger filling the lycanâs, fear in Rubyâs. âBelle, no!â she pleaded, forcing herself to her feet in an attempt to get between the girl and the beast.

Well it certainly wasnât the type of work he was used to. Adrian Rumplestilskin Gold flew solo and that was the way he worked best and just the way he liked it. You could only imagine the look of horror on his face when he was assigned a partner by his superior, even worse she was a newbie. Mr. Gold did not get along with the new agents for one specific reason, he was not a team player. Working alone was what he did and damn, he was good at it.Â
Of course he tried to object the forced partnership but he was denied. Two people were required for the job. The mission was simple investigate the murder of one Graham Hubert a local lawyer who was knee deep in the secrets of society.Â
Adrian and Belle would be posing as Dorian and Janice Chandler, happily married couple of five years, looking for a fresh start and a new beginning. It was simple really play the part and make it believable. In the mean time they were to investigate clues behind the scenes leading to the murder of poor old Graham.
The neighbourhood they were located too wasnât too fancy, but it was lavish, at least their house was. A giant pink victorian mansion was where they took up residence, all paid by the agency of course. Adrian posed as a lawyer as well and worked at the same firm that Graham worked for. Belle of course worked at the library, a great place to do research.Â
They had been their barely a day and Belle had already gone to welcome the new neighbours. Adrian opted to stay behind and read a case file and do some work. He was halfway through typing up a document when he herd Belle calling out.
âIn the kitchenâ he called out to her, not taking his eyes off the screen as she entered. He continued to type as she rambled on about the conversation with the people next door.Â
He lifted his eyes to look at her when she had finished her speech. Such an amateur, talking about the mission where just about anyone could hear.Â
âUmm you know dear, if you want to talk about private things perhaps we should go downstairs to the bunker. Wouldnât want anyone over hearing anythingâ he emphasized the word to see if she got the hint.
