Hey so I'm a potential comic artist myself and I come looking for some wisdom. My biggest obstacle I have besides plot and such is getting my ideas from my head into comic form. Do you have any tips on where I should start? I love your work so much! Keep it up and keep being awesome!! 💜
Well, if you really want my advice, here it is.
First, you don’t need to have a rock solid plot when you’re starting a web comic. Some comics have that, but lot of are simply making things up as they go, which is what I’ve been doing all this time! I start with a loose idea of what I want to happen in each chapter, with a beginning and an end, and everything in between is whatever I think of along the way. So far it’s worked pretty well!
Second, about getting your ideas into comic form, it may be that you need to bone up on some skills so you can make your drawings look closer to the pictures in your mind. Good news is you don’t have to wait until you’ve mastered everything to start your comic. Begin where you are right now, and as you go you’ll gain experience and confidence.
Third, here’s a link to a ton of art tutorials to help you practice! I’ve used several of these myself!
