I am going through my mom’s things. I was surprised and hurt to find a printed email to her best friend from November 2025 saying that I didn’t show affection. She needed to be seen as the victim. In the email, she said Margit was Lisa-like. She wrote: “she can be nasty and mean and also helpful and thoughtful.” I finally met  Margit, who had quiet tears she kept wiping as we talked about my mom.…

My first thought was ‘this sounds interesting,’ but as I leaned towards the paper, my next thought was “what if this is a horror movie that has mentally ill people as the monsters?” and my heart sank.

My second thought was correct.

Together with their crew, they’ve made a teaser trailer for “Frenzy,” their take on a summer party gone horribly wrong.Decklyn Rayne is the writer behind the script.“Friends go to this party, and while they are there, they find out about the escape of these mental patients from a hospital up the road, and it gets turned into this crazy madness frenzy after that,” Rayne said.“

Here we go again. Another film with the message that people with mental illness are monsters that have to be kept locked for the safety of others. :(

I left the newspaper where it was.
