Headcanon time!!!

Incredibly strong giants created by the North Wind during his early days of creating. Eventually they became guardians of the first few mortals alongside angels as well as sustainable due to their ability to regenerate themselves. But they didn’t usually mind, as long as they were helping the puny beings.

Despite their immense strength, they were rather gentle giants, curious of the world around them and pretty close-knit as a pack. Though they were prone to play-wrestling when an enemy or a rival behemoth ends up on another’s turf or chance for mates. They were also very helpful, not just as food but also trying to be good friends with the mortals.

Were able to shift their bodies, like with horns or skin, to adapt if their environment changes, helping them blend in and stay safe.

Could move whole mountains, deserts, and valleys to give early mortals a safe and bountiful home. Were considered anchors to an orderly mortal plane. When one died, it would lead to some sort of chaos around its surroundings, like earthquakes, volcanoes, or even chasms forming where it once stood.

They were strictly vegan. Eating lots of fruits and leafy greens.

Sadly, they went (mostly) extinct after a mysterious swarm of locusts swooped, contaminating the water and infecting the behemoths themselves until they were driven to madness along with other primordial creatures (e.g. leviathans, zizi birds, some dinosaurs). It was a VERY graphic day.
